Question

Star Citizen

Who here has bought into the game already? I'm looking into it and am just curious to see how much of the Oculus community is there. I'm really bummed that I am only now looking into getting in on this game since it seems that I missed alot of cool early backer perks.

Also, starting an Oculus specific plan would be really cool.

So yeah, what do you all think of Star Citizen and Squad 42 so far?

I'm also a veteran backer for Star Citizen, having played my fair share of Wing Commander and a friend talking me into backing, so I did what I mostly do: Go overboard.

So I bought a 315p and Starfarer (so sexy!) and I may add more ships as the brochures become available.

Anyway, now I have my Rift and tried First Law, Blue Marble and Titans of Space: No. Regrets. At. All!

No doubt in my mind that Star Citizen will be absolutely amazing with the OR. Seeing that they make sure everything is 'VR ready' (just look at this map!)

I'm looking forward to the release of the hangar module at the end of the month and the spike in popularity/pledging it will probably result in.

I backed the game as soon as I heard about the kickstarter. I remember when Wing Commander basically created the market for SoundBlaster and AdLib sound cards for the PC. Once again a Chris Robert's title StarCitizen will help usher in the era of a new PC peripheral. It is also an excellent match for the Rift. Being seated in a cockpit is a perfect match.

As I am dusting off my HOTAS Cougar setup, I'm contemplating about flying my "Rifted" Hornet and obliterating all your geek asses into space dust!

hi all, i backed star citizen also, i have a big ship(nice) and a rift(even nicer) and although they said on there site that the goal was to have rift support, which they they are doing and working towards. the latest wing commander episode with chris roberts the q was asked about rift support for hanger release and he said not yet but later, thats what i got anyway but it will still be bigggggggggg.

hehe i was just looking at an interview. You may wish to at least get into the starter pack for like 35 to 40 bucks because if you do so you get alpha and beta access , a basic ship and the ablity to see your ship and walk around it next week! it will have oculus rift support eventually (by the dogfighting module in dec they say at least) but yeah. i backed it a month ago and got the freelancer option as i think it looks like the best all around ship for the price and will look awesome in the hanger :-) chris roberts i think one of the big backers of Oculus and was featured in one of the interviews with them a year ago and i think anyone with a rift should def consider backing the project!

i think their goals so far isnt too crazy and looking at the quality of the hanger app alone from the short videos i think they are on track to product a quality title!

I backed it early and I was at gamescom on Saturday and visited the Star citizen community event after that with the hangar unveil. Excellent crowd there, everyone was really psyched!

They didn't show the hangar with the rift (yet), but I think the hangar module will support it... hopefully right from the start.
