Any users on here with the index and our Flyinside Flight Sim can test if the headset works ok under SteamVR option please :)

It works great for me, no issues that I could see. Played Beta 2. Zero glare that I noticed too.

@pyroth309 - If something was bugging the shit out of me i'd have to return it, but that's just me. The Rift S tracking was bugging the shit out of me and I returned it before they fixed it. I'm just waiting to see what HTC Cosmos has to offer now and at what price before I purchase another headset. I'll avoid the Valve index though due to the glare because that would bug the shit out of me.
I had hoped Valve index would be the VR headset for me due to it's premium design, but some of it's problems have put me right off it. At £920 I wouldn't want any anything bugging me and that's how I look at it.

Yep ditto and that's my dilemma. Still trying to figure out if I can live with it or not. I've tried multiple readjustments and ipd settings and I've gotten it pretty minimized lately. Just trying to run through as many games/lighting as I can to make a decision.

Hoping I'll have more time this weekend to finalize my opinion. I'm not worried about the price if it's a headset I want to use everyday and besides the glare it fits that category. If it's just going to bug me consistently I'm going to return it. I'm also trying to give it enough time to not make a hasty conclusion as every headset I've used has tradeoffs.

The only issue I may have had is I'm not sure if the controller mappings took for the Knuckles. But I flew with VR controls like I usually do and it was fine. But other than that, yea straight into the game. Looked great in Index.

Yea sure, my time is limited as one of my kids has been in hospital with pneumonia (doing better now just not released yet) and I've been spending a lot of time there this week. But I should have some time tomorrow and this weekend.

Great mate I'll let you know. And as a dad of 4 I hope your kid is better soon, I know how hard pneumonia is on youngsters.

Ah - that's why you spend so much time in here :o  I only have 3 kids. I've been doing some research and comparing statistics for "kids vs. total post count" it seems that the more kids the more time you spend in this forum (or the more posts you write). I'm still trying to explain the mechanism :D (Zenbane might be an outlier, or maybe he's got 15 kids hidden somewhere)

And back to the Index!

Ok - but that only counts as 2 kids in here, might have to redo the statistics and work on another hypothesis, lol ;) Mine are 7, 11 and 15. I guess I'm more or less grounded at home, simply forced to sit in front of my PC writing posts in here o:)

Maybe we should talk about age. One of my colleagues, a senior neurologist, said the Mercedes car commercials typically show a 25 or 30 year old male cruising in a new expensive Mercedes, but typically such cars are bought only by 50+ year old persons. Now I'm starting to wonder if there're any dudes in here below the age of 35 - even though VR users seem quite young in the Oculus commercials :D (And maybe Index users will be older than Rift-S users! - See I mentioned the Index, and thus this post is relevant in this thread o:) )

Lmao but my 31 and 34 year olds are bigger kids than their 2 year old brother. This sensible elder drivers a Peugeot 3008 SUV no Merc nonsense for me lol
