How do you witch between Rift and Index? Do you have them both plugged it at the same time?  I've had my Rift-S unplugged since I got the Index. I'm reluctant to unplug.

As someone who is debating getting Index to supplement my Rift S, I'm dying to find out why. Is there an issue with unplugging Index?

I just hate reaching behind my PC to plug/unplug stuff. I can't turn the PC around because there are so many wires so I'm just groping around trying to stick it in blind.

Also, when I first plugged in the Index I had massive static and problems. I then switched to a different port and all was well. So, I'm just afraid I'll unplug and replug and my problems will return

I have 3 monitors and the Index plugged in plus god knows how many USB devices.

I'm just not even tempted to purchase Valve index. While it has some nice features it also sounds like it's a bit of a pain to setup and get just right. Then you have to change the setup again depending on which game you want to play. Hopefully we will be hearing a lot more about the HTC Cosmos soon because that's the only headset I'm waiting on now.

Just got the USB-C converter cable this morning, I've had the CV1 unplugged since Index arrived. I too greatly dislike having to unplug one to connect the other. Won't have time to try it before this evening, I'll let you know how it goes.
Actually do miss the CV1, although SteamVR isn't that bad, everything looks much better in the Oculus Home.
Read that some dude had two hmds connected and he could play some "multiplayer" (Rec Room I think) with him and the wife both connected to the same rig - although performance had to be shared and wasn't good. Interesting to find out if that's true...

Probably not, not going to try though, if anything will be unplugged in my case it will be the CV1.
BTW, Index has been working flawlessly, no audio or graphics glitches - I'm still using SteamVR Beta.
Like with the Rift-S, several users have posted problems with the Index, so I'm trying to intervene as little as possible with my currently working setup.

If CV1 is like a console, then Index feels like a pc. So the interface is more convoluted and there're more user options, and you may have to invest time to get everything right. But when it works optimally, it really outshines everything else.

Hey Rune, you mentioned ASW 2.0 a lot, do we have to enable that as Oculus users or does that come on automatically in the software?

It comes automatically with the software, making 45 fps look much more like 90 compared to Valve's motion smoothing. Asw 2.0 works automatically for games based on Unreal engine and Unity (=devs don't have to actively support it).

You can tell if a game supports ASW 2.
Press the Oculus button whilst in game, if Dash comes up with game still displayed, it supports it.
If game fades to gray when Dash opens, it does not.
