NMS is improving, slowly, but VR is not best optimised currently.
For me - I set resolution to 1080p Vsync off (screen res), downloaded the Vulkan RT latest and played around a bit with resolutions/quality.
Played a couple of hours last night with it looking the best so far.. (pretty reasonable) but have no idea of my FPS or reprojection - I just played.

Reduce the resolution to the lowest possible number. It doesn't affect your VR resolution but I heard it slows down the game. I don't know if that was patched yet.

I have a few things on ultra and HBAO on normal but no supersampling or AA. It looks really good. I'm playing @ 80hz right now. Game is pretty smooth.

I think they made some performance improvements because it seems smoother lately.

I really enjoyed trying to collect crystals on an extreme weather planet. You have to run out and grab the crystals then return to your ship because it takes about 2 minutes before the weather starts harming you.

Seems like the Vanishing Realms expansion will be available 12AM PST - get it here (in less than 1 hour - I hope):

Old trailer - but I do like the fighting much more than in for example Shadow Legend:

Maybe I should get back to the game, but a 12 feet tall skeleton monster is blocking my way, and it'll require some physical exercise on my part to make it go away, lol. Nearly pulled down a ceiling lamp the last time I tried, I tend to be carried away in such games

The Vanishing Realms expansion The Sundered Rift has now arrived - it's $12 and requires the original game - so about $30 if you need to purchase both:

Note that the original game has been updated, no more flat textures for grass, but real 3D grass waving in the wind. To activate the extension (chapter 3+) you need to finish the original game (chapters 1 and 2). I just did that - a real nice workout - but I've only played a few minutes of the extension. Chapter 3 looks awesome, looking forward to continue.
I played the new version using the Index, got solid 90 fps using SteamVR ss 200%.
