Here's mine...

I'm a huge fan of The Metal but I think I'll start with some of my legendary, less angry, favorites.

Probably my favorite band of all time across all genres is Primus. I've seen them live twice, and I've seen Les Claypool live in his solo act once.

It all started with "Jerry was a Race car driver"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LBQ2305fLeA

For those who don't know Les, fun fact: he once audition for Metallica and they denied him based solely on the fact that he is far too damn good for them.

I've seen tons of bands live (Slayer, Megadeth, Sepultura, Napalm Death, Cannibal Corpse, Korn, System of a Down, Pantera, Slipknot, Lamb of God - to name a few). But Primus is the band that showed me first hand the largest mosh pit I've ever seen, and it was to this mighty cute song:

A few thousand people went ape shit at the 1:37 mark.

I hold in high regard just about everything Claypool releases; if I had to pick a favorite song it is simply, Here Come The Bastards

Quick interjection,

Gojira - Flying whales

I haven't been in this thread in awhile so I'll comment on several things you said here.

Gojira...love them. One of the best bands around imo. Drummer is a beast.

Lost in Vegas - Yea I love their channel, one of the few channels I support on Patreon. Been watching all of their stuff since I ran across them doing Enter Sandman by metallica. When they Did this they became my favorite reaction channel - Dave mustaine even commented on it lol.

Ne Obliviscaris is also one of my favorite bands. Their usage of Violin with metal is just greatness.

I enjoy this guy's reaction channel also and he's from Texas like you Zen lol. He does a lot of editing to his videos but he kind of stays within a rigid formula which is good and bad. I like his takes though. Here's him doing one of my favorite bands and songs.

Here's some of my favorites from 2019 so far -

Evergrey - Criminally underrated band. Been around almost 25 years and most people never heard of.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kBne5lE66u0

Soilwork - Another swedish band that's been around 20 years. This album seems to have been inspired by 80's rock. It's catchy.

Demon Hunter  - They're a christian metal band but probably the only good one. (It's not preachy)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zKCP2vWQehc

In Flames - One of the pioneers of Melodic Death Metal. This latest album is a partial return to form despite this abomination of a video. This guy lip syncing isn't even in the band lol. This comment sums it up...

In Flames: '' we don't have much money for a clip''
Nuclear Blast Records: '' we know a guy.....''

Also Zen, another band you may like since you like Ne Obliviscaris is Be'lakor who is also from Australia. They're like in between Ne and Amon Amarth. My favorite thing about them is they will enchant you with beautiful melodies and then just come out of nowhere with a heavy riff lol.

Probably their most well known song.

This song is a great use of dynamics and storytelling.

*Edit* Forgot to add a song with a riff outta nowhere example. This one works. 2:15ish is when this one hits.

Nice, Amon Amarth is awesome. Basically Norse battle music lol. I've gotten many bruises from the pit at their shows when they come around. Great live band. They have a new album in the works and it's number 1 on my wish list.

Well I guess since they're being mentioned I should explain who they are. Amon Amarth is a Melodic Death Metal band and all of their lyrics are about Vikings and Norse Mythology. Here's a couple tracks for anyone who's never heard and is curious.

Yea, he's better at being Nine Inch Nails than Trent is at this point and he's 61 lol. Course he was basically NIN before they were. I liked his song "I am dust" from a few years ago too.

This is the reception of America to KPOP girl bands...even the bitch of The Young Turks is anti-young girl artists saying it makes her uncomfortable. She's obviously biased as most people who only like 1 genre sitting there in her biker jacket. As though they are scared to venture out like it's a closed society gang and an unwritten rule to stay loyal much like Football fans say "should kick them in for listening to that!" which I have heard far too much it's worrying in society!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDvzU2Cn8_Y

The latest attack on KPOP acts in sex-scandals is no more than John Travolta and did that wreck his career? Errrrrrr nope! BigBang's  Seungri Quits Showbiz because of a self sex tape! Get feckin real 'merica ;)
This world is just shit with anti-socialists is all I can say.

I love Jinjer. There's several female death vocalists nowadays that I enjoy.

Gotta start with Angela Gossow from Arch Enemy. She started it all (On a large scale anyway) and has influenced many female growlers.

Her replacement - Alissa White-Gluz. Angela switched to managing the band so she could focus on family life

Vicky Psarakis who replaced Alissa in her old band The Agonist

Here's a lighter one. She has some good growls but she mostly clean sings. Maria Brink

TWICE was a first experimental band with their own full management team alone within the agency JYP. Now they're doing the same with 4 acts in the same year. This comes as many acts run to the end of their 10yr contracts and so disband. A new decade enfolds.
