Here's mine...

I'm a huge fan of The Metal but I think I'll start with some of my legendary, less angry, favorites.

Probably my favorite band of all time across all genres is Primus. I've seen them live twice, and I've seen Les Claypool live in his solo act once.

It all started with "Jerry was a Race car driver"

For those who don't know Les, fun fact: he once audition for Metallica and they denied him based solely on the fact that he is far too damn good for them.

I've seen tons of bands live (Slayer, Megadeth, Sepultura, Napalm Death, Cannibal Corpse, Korn, System of a Down, Pantera, Slipknot, Lamb of God - to name a few). But Primus is the band that showed me first hand the largest mosh pit I've ever seen, and it was to this mighty cute song:

A few thousand people went ape shit at the 1:37 mark.

I hold in high regard just about everything Claypool releases; if I had to pick a favorite song it is simply, Here Come The Bastards

I'm one of those awful "I listen to everything" people but I've definitely been leaning more indie as of late.

Twenty One Pilots just set off on their tour and I am so, so excited despite the fact I won't get to see them for another nine months 😅

Watsky's 'x Infinity' is one of the best albums of all time, for me. Found him on YouTube, like many others, loved 'Cardboard Castles', his more recent projects are also great but that one is the pinnacle for me.

If I want to chill a little more, I've got Minecraft Volume Alpha and the Oxenfree soundtrack on vinyl. Both are absolutely incredible OSTs and they look gorgeous too! I'm constantly on the hunt for a reasonably priced copy of the Sea of Thieves soundtrack so I have my full trilogy of favorite games.

And then I couldn't make a post without mentioning ("TBFKAEL"), hard life! They take pride of place in my signature and they were the first band me and my wife went to see together! We've been to a couple shows since then and I'm very excited to see what they release next after the chaos of their last year!

(Also, kojack might be after my own heart with the Carpenter Brut and Caravan Palace shoutouts  🐐)

If I don't take my foot off the gas, I might miss it all. ⪤ Quest 3 | Rift S, Quest, Quest 2, Pico 4 ⪤ MSI RTX 4070, i7-13700F, 64GB DDR5 5600MHz ⪤ Ray-Ban Meta Wayfarer | Shiny Caramel Transparent | Brown Polarised

Nice.

Music time then.

I've been listening to this one a lot lately. Kind of depressing lyrics, but upbeat song.

Architecture in Helsinki (an Australian band), I might Survive.

I just found out, Front Line Assembly released a new album about a year ago. Well not a real album I guess - it's a remix album, but surprisingly great - I just got the CD in the mail:

Kinda the perfect music for Vox Machinae? 🤔 😁

After a calm Friday, maybe time to turn things up a notch or two? 🤔 😎 - And add some fresh guitar 🤗

Since you like metal but are thinking of changing it up I recommend the band StarSet some songs are energized and some are calm. Also the songs just put together a huge story that is fun to learn! To get the whole story listen to the albums like this

Stumbled across a few pieces of interest while browsing the record shop... Taking the Heart of Darkness approach, let's start with the lighter songs before it gets darker 😇
