Question

Virtual Oculus Lounge

Is anybody interested in hanging out in an Oculus Rift Virtual Lounge?
I've been kicking the idea around.

It is incredibly easy to just hop in and create rooms using something like the unity bootcamp photon networking demo
but I was wondering what would make this special enough for folks to actually use to interact and hang out together
in a virtual space.

For the demo I'm talking about, reference

    Hey geekmaster

If you hotlink to an image that is hosted on this forum as a file attachment, it doesn't show to people who aren't logged in. You can test this by viewing your signature inside an incognito window in Chrome.

Okay, we may need an external image storage location then...

Here is a signature code block using a small imgur image (visible when not logged in). Use this code in your MTBS User Profile Signature:

*Disclaimer: Just a suggestion, not a complaint.

The "washed out" image was provided by another member. I linked to his image. The code I published above is not washed out, using the same image as before, but stored offsite. Here is the image in the most recent signature code block (visible when not logged in):

Only my image is washed out, as you can see below. This was requested by others because of my widespread frequent posts, to be less distracting in the threads.

In your case, just use the most recent codeblock to see the smaller (but not too small and not too "washed out") image in your signature (as it is now, but also visible to people not logged in).

Here is my latest image and codeblock, used here and at MTBS3D:

It looks a bit too dark here, but a bit too light over at MTBS3D. Unless I use different images, this is a good compromise I think. But even so, you just can't make everybody happy at the same time no matter what.

    Thanks Geekmaster.

Hello my name is Brenden Geary and I am currently an incoming junior at Upland High School. I am already working on this years science fair project. I am working on a virtual reality device that could have innumerable applications. I have recently made some break troughs in coding which will allow me to use my two cameras with the Oculus rift and camera track in real time so I can add objects or models to the image. In order to move on with my project efficiently I need the device so I can test and refine my code. I have $300 in hand and I am willing to pay that too you right away for the development kit. I can order like normal but I will not get it until August which would force me into a kind of project stalemate for the rest of my summer vacation (A.K.A. Best working time). Is there anyone out there willing to sell theirs? For more information on the projects I do, not this one (yet), visit my site at www.brendengeary.com.

    Sincerely,
    Brenden Geary
