hopefully this is just taking things to the extreme and will never actually be a thing.....   because if not then George Orwell was right, its 1984 but just come 35
years later than planned.



I have no problem (ok i do have a problem but i have accepted it) with my data not being as private as i would like.... but potentially fishing through it then punishing me for it, despite it being private between consenting adults?

     Sorry but no, you believe in free speech or you don't, you can't cherry pick. I'd rather listen to someones opinion, no matter how objectionable, challenge it, debate it, rather than have it silenced and forced underground.



    It's not "cherry picking" to have a standard. Freedom of Speech is provided by the government, not a corporation. I can't go in to your house and say anything I want for as long as I want; you are allowed to have me removed.

    People don't understand how freedom works.


    But that's not free speech, is it? Kicking you out of my house has nothing to do with free speech.

    Edit: To be clear on my opinion - free speech has never existed except in people's fantasies.

    So if a forum moderator bans a user for posting shit and being annoying and breaking a rule, are they violating his free speech? Or are they trying to maintain some sort of order and a safe space for the majority?

    Based on the misconception of the Right to Free Speech... the Moderator is in violation.

    Based on reality and common sense, it is merely maintaining order in a privately owned medium.

    If me and zenbane are having a chat on skype and i say "fucking hell zenbane, just admit your palmer and stop trollong the twatting forum" then wjy should i be banned?

    What many people don't know @Zenbane was banned many months ago. We replaced him with an AI system codenamed Cerberus, he is our new HTC fanboy defence system. Spent a lot of money on fine tweaking.

    This example is my issue.... If I am chatting with you and I say something you find personally offensive then fair enough if you complain....... But if @snowdog is listening in (sorry mate just example ;)) as a 3rd party that isn't even involved in me trying to groom @zenbane  but takes offence and tries to edit me... That is what I take umbrage with. ***

    Note I am on beer#8 now so........ ;)
