Why do people not want to show their faces with a profile photo?

Because faces can be used by more than one person. Also, avatar faces aren't doing the communicating, the text is.

I wonder why people post pictures "of themselves" but have at least two names associated with that picture.

For me, the internet is a place best used anonymously.

Yeah, for me pretty much the exact opposite. :smile: I wouldn't want to give everybody horrible, horrible nightmares at the sight of my face. :wink:

I added a profile pic just now (didn't have one before). Technically that is me. :smile:
