Question

Why Is the New Navigator UI STILL Not Available in the UK?

I don’t normally post on here, but this one’s seriously bothering me.

It’s now June 2025, and the Navigator UI update (from the v77 release) still hasn’t rolled out to many of us here in the UK. Meanwhile, users in the US and elsewhere have had access to it for weeks — if not longer.

This isn’t just some background tweak. It’s a complete overhaul of how we interact with the Quest interface — a huge usability upgrade. I’ve seen videos of it and read the impressions: floating launcher, app pinning, translucent interface over your MR space. It’s exactly what we’ve needed for ages. But for some reason, UK users are still stuck on the old system, with zero transparency from Meta about why.

We’re not asking for much — just equal treatment as paying customers. Oculus/Meta has sold and supported the Quest platform in the UK from the beginning. We pay the same price (or more, depending on exchange rates and VAT), support the ecosystem, and spread the word. So why are we consistently left waiting when these major updates roll out?

The “gradual and random rollout” excuse is wearing thin. It doesn’t feel random when it always seems to hit US markets first while others are left behind. And VPN workarounds or account resets shouldn’t be necessary just to get a UI everyone will eventually get anyway.

I’m not here to bash the platform — I genuinely enjoy it. But if Meta wants to grow its user base globally, basic fairness and transparency matter. We deserve an explanation — or better yet, access to the same features at the same time.

Is anyone else in the UK still waiting for Navigator? Would love to hear if anyone’s found a way to trigger the rollout legitimately. Or if someone from Meta sees this — please, talk to us.

End rant.

    Hi BruceArthurWayne 🙂

This is not about users from the US or the UK.... there are also users in UK who already have the Navigator.
    Just read the release notes

    Rollout details

Navigator will begin rolling out as a limited test to some people on our Public Test Channel (PTC) with v77 and is expected to roll out gradually to all users over the coming months. This is just the beginning of a broader evolution of Horizon OS. We’ve got much more planned for the future of spatial computing.

From my point of view, I prefer to avoid the cutting edge. It's called that for a reason and Meta aren't exactly famous for their quality control when it comes to new software features. I'd rather they concentrate on fixing Link and Airlink than rolling out endless UI tweaks.

Really BruceArthurWayne Bruce you do this all the time if its not A its Z I know people on the PTC who are in the UK who have it. Its called a A/B Test not everyone will get it to test it, but its coming and you probably would complain about it too if you had it....

“I don’t habitually complain; overall, I genuinely enjoyed the Meta Quest experience. I simply highlighted a few evident issues when they arose

BruceArthurWayne  the navigator is just another user loser interface to get to the older menu. it's just an extra layer of button clicks to do what you want.

Hey, just to clarify — my role as a moderator in The Scenic Club was a volunteer position, not a job or formal employment. I was involved because I cared about the space, not because it was work-related.

So when it’s brought up in arguments like this, it feels a bit out of context. I’d appreciate it if we could keep things focused on the actual discussion instead of dragging in past roles that don’t really apply here.

BruceArthurWayne  you might be able to trigger it by using a VPN set to the US. I took my headset on holiday and used a VPN and was getting updates including the navigator bloatware. I'm on the PTC.

Okay, I might give it a go thank you I was gonna try a docker container

with a VPN access which changes my broadband to trigger it in the US

I tried the VPN trick and changed my location settings to the US. On a positive note, Meta AI worked briefly—about 12 to 33 seconds—but no navigator update was installed. For some reason, this method doesn’t seem to affect the navigator. I also checked ChatGPT and went through a bunch of Reddit threads about it, but nothing has worked so far.

I’m having an issue with my Horizon Worlds account. When people are in my world, I don’t receive polls to remove them. I also don’t get any thank-you messages, reactions, or emoji notifications from people who visit or interact. None of those features seem to be working for me.

Meta is a disaster, V77 it shouldn't be on PTC anymore. And no one here has access to the navigator . It's a lie about gradually rolling out. And saying that they will do it in the following months and without dates is the mistreatment to UK buyers. The funny thing is that meta is officially already in ptc v78.

If you contact Meta customer support — especially through WhatsApp — and let them know you didn’t receive the Navigator interface through the PCT program, they might refund you. I contacted them because the Navigator feature was supposed to be included but never showed up after a firmware update. I complained, and they gave me £30 as compensation.

Apparently, this issue is affecting a lot of users. We were supposed to get the new Navigator interface with the latest firmware (version 78 or similar), but many people didn’t receive it. If that’s you, reach out to Meta support — they could end up handing out quite a few refunds over this.

What winds me up? It’s the same with certain features and it’s the same for Apple big companies do this where Americans get features first and it’s annoying but the more people who complain about it the more they should do something
