Question

Without my rift for 2 nights and ahhhhhhhhhhh

My God I hope VR continues. I had to send my Rift back and for 2 nights I've missed it badly. I was just getting back into DCS World flying the A10C and getting really good at Onward. Now I'm stuck playing 2D shitty games and I just can't get into them. Even my Nvidia 3D vision is no substitute on a 27" monitor.

@cybereality - We all know you're the man, so get my replacement headset back to me a.s.a.p.

i haven't come across you yet and I was playing Onward quite a lot. I've started to get quite good at the game, but I don't appreciate some players using those riffles they've created. I would consider it cheating to use on of those when other people aren't. I just wish people would play the game like it's supposed to be played so we are all equal. You can tell a mile of people who use these riffles to gain an advantage.

So people are cheating in Onward now?  Great, if that doesn't get fixed, it'll ruin yet another online multiplayer game.

@falken76 - I think it's like the whole xbox controller vs the mouse and keyboard debate. Some would say using a mouse and keyboard gives you an advantage in Xbox games. The riffles some people have created in Onward to hold the controllers in place give you an advantage, that's my opinion. It's also obvious when someone is using these unless they have arms made of steel LOL. I just tell these people to try and play the game without it when I know someones using one.

@lovethis why don't you just make the rifle yourself? I've seen tons of images/videos on how to do it with simple materials. I wouldn't call it cheating... I mean, even the Touch controllers came with an add-on for the Rockband Guitar. If it's okay to strap a controller on to a Guitar to play Rockband better, then it seems okay to strap a controller on to a pipe to use a Rifle better. In fact, that's the entire point of those Vive trackers, isn't it? To be able to turn anything in to a VR object?

All is fair in Love, War, and VR.

(I coined that phrase just now. Trademarked.)

@Zenbane - If Oculus made the addon I'd be all for it, but I don't think this is how some FPS shooters are meant to be played. Oculus provided that for Rockband VR and it's not something that gives you an advantage because everyone's got one. The devices some people have made for FPS games is not good in my opinion. I say this because while it might increase your aim accuracy, it makes other things more difficult like loading etc. Now you may say that evens things out, but it doesn't, it just complicates things more. Do you want a better aim and slower loading times? Also on shorter maps it's more of an advantage because you don't have to Reload as often or pull out your side arm. If you played the game you would know what I meant.

The game is good without trying to create something to gain better accuracy, so why make these things in the first place if the game is equally good without them?

@Zenbane - Please explain why you disagree? You may want to read what I wrote again because I had to edit some stuff.

I once played a Game called PR, it was a realistic sim that made you look down the iron sights of your riffle. Off-course you could just stick a red dot on your screen to avoid doing this, but I never did this just so that I could gain an advantage in accuracy while shooting.
