Add Ukrainian language to Meta Horizon OS (or keyboard layout at least)

Greetings!

 

Many of you know what is happening in my country. And many of my friends and acquaintances have become owners of Quest headsets, looking for a little peace in virtual worlds. Its have allowed us to unite different parts of our country and support each other. And although many of us know English, we still communicate in our native Ukrainian, but due to the lack of a Ukrainian layout in the headset, we are unable to write messages to each other in our own language.

 

I understand that adding a whole new localization language can be a difficult and complex task, so I ask you to add at least a Ukrainian layout to the list of available ones in Meta Horizon OS to allow us to communicate freely.

 

Thank you Meta for your products and I hope that this request will be heard.

    Hello Meta Quest Team,

     

    I am a Meta Quest 3 user from Ukraine and I would like to request Ukrainian language support for Horizon OS.

     

    Currently, Ukrainian is not available as a system language or keyboard layout on Meta Quest devices. Many Ukrainian users would appreciate at least a Ukrainian keyboard layout so we can communicate in our native language inside VR apps and messages.

     

    Adding full Ukrainian localization may require more time, but adding Ukrainian keyboard support would already make a big difference for the Ukrainian VR community.

     

    Please consider adding Ukrainian language support in future Meta Quest updates.

      Unfortunately that will not happen until if and when Ukraine becomes an officially supported country for the Quest. I'm in the same boat, as I'm based in Türkiye and there is no Turkish support either. For legal reasons connected to warranty liability, they will not provide local language support until they are selling officially in the country as providing language support implies warranty support which we don't have. We'll just have to hope we will get official status one day. 🤞🤞🤞🤞
