Since the last update my headset has had I now have to quit meta link to be able to access anything to do with the quest 3 standard menu like accepting/making calls messages and other things. It used to let me just do a double tap on the headset and put me back in my home then I could do calls etc but now it takes me out of the link but only states that link is running in the background and a Resume button...

    Hello MoreliaMental,

We understand that you're experiencing issues accessing the Meta Menu while using the Link feature, and we’d like to see how we can help.

Since this issue seems to have started after the latest update, the best first step is to report it directly to our engineering team using the bug report option. This helps them investigate and work on a fix more quickly.

In the meantime, here are a couple of workarounds that could help:

Method 1: Try a Hard Reboot

    • This is a temporary fix that often restores functionality, though you may need to repeat it if the issue returns.
    • Put on your headset.
    • Press and hold the Power button for 10–15 seconds until the device shuts down completely.
    • Wait about 30 seconds.
    • Press the Power button again to turn it back on.

Method 2: Launch an App from Your Mobile

This trick can force the Meta Menu to reappear by initiating an app from your phone.

    • Open the Meta Horizon mobile app.
    • Tap the Menu tab and select Casting.
    • Connect to your headset.
    • Tap Apps and launch any app from the list.
    • The Meta Menu should pop back up once the app opens.

We hope one of these steps help!

I think it's always been like this. I can't remember ever being able to return to the Quest UI from within Link unless I quit the connection.

    steve_40  It is possible.

When I link (air link) the Q3 to pc and double tab to go in passthrough,  I have the Quest UI and can interact with it. Double tabbing again brings me back to the void with Rift UI.

But I'm still on v79 with Q3 so I don't know, if this will change on v81.πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

I'm having the exact same issue. Tried hard reset, no luck.

And I'm pretty sure I was able to do that before.

    Hey there,

We saw your post and we wanted to lend a hand!

Experiencing issues accessing the Meta menu while using the link features can be far from ideal, especially when you've just got home and all you want to do is to sit back and relax while enjoying your favorite games issue free! We would love to provide you with the assistance needed but before we do anything we would like you to submit a bug report as this seems to be an issue with the update and this will help our engineers become aware of the issue, we will also leave a few troubleshooting steps we would like you to attempt below:

As you've attempted a hard reboot we will skip this step.

    1. Make sure your Meta Quest software and drivers are up to date

    2. Launch an App from Your Mobile

This can force the Meta Menu to appear by initiating an app from your phone.

    • Open the Meta Horizon mobile app.
    • Tap the Menu tab and select Casting.
    • Connect to your headset.
    • Tap Apps and launch any app from the list.
    • The Meta Menu should pop back up once the app opens.

    We hope this helped!

why doesn't meta fix known Quest 3 issue where menus or overlays lock inputs until you force‑refresh the system. IN DSC you can work hard on a flight , only to have the menu not react to clicking because of this very buggy Quest3 software... no excuse!
