Can't add a second user to my Oculus Quest 2

I am trying to add a second user to my oculus and when I go to do it and press the add accounts button it comes up with an error straight away saying "Something went wrong. Please try again later." It also keeps trying to get me to put in a code on www.meta.com/device even when i try to play a game it closes it and brings up that screen. Any help would be apricated

Hey Playjamin! We definitely want for you to be able to play your games and access all the features of your headset, and we're here to help!

From what you're saying, it sounds like the root cause of this is that your headset hasn't been paired since updating to a Meta account. Have you been able to put in your code from your headset to http://www.meta.com/device? Once you do that while logged in to your account, it should pair, and then you should be able to do everything and get into your games!

Let us know if that works, or if you need any help along the way. If you get any error messages while trying to do that, send us a screenshot so we can figure out what's happening!

I’ve made a second account!!

You have to switch to a private browser. Then go to meta.com/device that’s when you see a fresh meta page asking you to sign in or make an account. Make your new account with a new email and password. You’ll get a email with a code to confirm. After that, on your oculus make your second account as you normally do. Just put the number in with your new account. Hope this helps!

i keep getting the same stupid error after entering the code via web/phone.  starting to wonder why i bought this thing.  why cant we just add a user on the headset?  i dont understand this jumping thru hoops and adding a code online/mobile device, etc....i just want to put my son on the device and make sure he cant buy things without having parental consent to purchase from the store.  right now he uses my account because of this.  its been a huge huge hassle to add someone.  it wasn't this difficult to add him to my xbox.  i mean cmon....no need for it to be this difficult to add someone.   just let us do it thru the headset and make it painless and simple.

I successfully made a second account by using a private browser. On your phone or computer set your browser to private. Then go to meta.com/device, this time the meta page it will come up new and ask you to sign in with Facebook or sign in with email. You are going to create a new account with a new email and password. You’ll be sent a confirmation number. Enter it into your phone then go to your oculus and go through the steps of making a second account it should work. It was a pain in the butt to figure out but, starting on a private browser, does the trick. Hope it works for you.

What I just found is you need to create accounts on the web on meta. Once logged on this new account, go in your oculus to create ( in fact, it’s not create, it’s link) and once you get the code on the screen, you put that code in the new created account on the web.

Finally with the help of this forum figured it out , you have to create new accounts by signing out and using new emails and passwords for each user once u have done that and gone through the whole

set up for each new user , you can flip between users while using the headset

Same issue here. Created the admin account without problems but when trying to add a second account for my daughter it fails with the same error described by everyone else. So ridiculous!!! How many billions have they spent on this garbage already?!?!

For those still struggling with adding secondary accounts, this has been answered on pages 4-6 (read the thread). You have to begin by creating the new Meta account as the new account holder within a browser and login to that new account via browser.  It will then ask you to put on the headset and type in the code.  Put on the headset, go to add account, and type in the code.  This time it will accept it without the error.

Have the same problem as everyone else here and am ready to throw this thing out the window. I don"t know how many times I have entered the code from the device-page and that says ok and fine but in the headset all I get is an error-message and try again. WHAT else can I do? I can't see any answer in this thread except keep trying what I have already tried. Please help.

This was from anothwr user and worked for me.

ADD SECOND/THIRD/FOURTH ACCOUNTS to same device

1) In a browser, log out of your PRIMARY meta account if already logged in

2) In a browser, log into your meta account using SECONDARY account login info (different email/username/pass)

3) In the same browser tab, in the address bar, type meta.com/device

4) Put on your Quest 2 device, go to Settings/Accounts/Add Account and follow prompts to get the 8 digit pairing code.

5) Enter the pairing code into the browser tab that lists your SECONDARY login info from Step 3. This should add the SECONDARY new account to the same device.

Repeat as necessary for additional accounts.
