First Encounters Issue

For some reason First Encounters simply waits with the graphic that it has to scan the room to continue. No other help. To be honest, for a game that is central to the Quest experience, not having any more diagnosis of the problem is REALLY bad marketing.

    Hey there—since this sounds like a new issue with First Encounters, I'm going to move this post out into its own thread in the troubleshooting forum, where you may be able to get some help.

    I just checked. Scanning the room worked fine for me.

    If restarting the app and/or the headset doesn't help, you probably need to reset the Quest to factory settings.

    How to factory reset your Meta Quest

    And of course,..... walk around in your room. so the scan can be completed.

      Ah, I'm old enough to remember the days when your webcam or speakers on the PC didn't work and you got the reply "try resetting the PC" or "reinstall the drivers" or even "try reinstalling Windows"! So the answer is "No", I'm not going to reset the damned thing any time there's a problem and suggesting anyone does that is just an admission you don't know what the problem is and can't be bothered to recreate it to discover what the problem is.

        It's totally up to you, doing a factory reset or not.
        I would at least consider it.😉

        I have had my Quest 3 for about a year.  I can no longer scan the room to be able to play First Encountrrs.  I never had this issue before.  Has anyone come up with a way to fix this?  I love this game!

        Sept 15, 2026. Nope. Just logged in after not playing with the Q3 for... 2 years? I feel like Dumbledore reluctantly trying Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Bean after previous disappointments and getting Ear Wax. Alas, Q3 still sucks.
