Question

Getting back my games

I am writing this from a temporary account I just created specifically to ask for help, as my main Meta account is currently disabled and I cannot log in to post here.

My main Meta account was deactivated because it was linked to an Instagram account that was suspended for not following community rules. While I understand the decision regarding Instagram, my Meta Quest account has absolutely nothing to do with it.

I have a Quest 3 and I have invested a significant amount of money in a large library of games. Currently, my headset is basically a brick because I can no longer access the content I legally purchased.

To be honest, I don’t care about the Insta account anymore. Meta can keep it disabled. However, I desperately need to recover my Meta or Oculus account and my game library. It feels very unfair to lose hundreds of dollars worth of digital content because of a linked social media profile issue.

Has anyone dealt with this before? Is there a way to decouple my banned Instagram from my Meta account so I can use my Quest 3 again?

That's very unfortunate. Hopefully when you get this frustrating situation fixed immediately unlink your Horizon account from Instagram, and Facebook if it is connected. However you will need to contact support at Instagram. This forum is a user only forum and we have no access to account information directly. From what I've seen in the past, you must fix your Instagram account first, however.

You can try contacting Meta support through your Horizon app if that's possible or write to Meta support through the website.

Here also is a link for disabled Instagram accounts, though you may have tried it already.

This is the best I can offer, but possibly someone else will have another solution here.
