Grey screen and no sound

I have been give by my son his meta quest 3 , it is 2 years old and is my lifeline for doing exercise as I am recovering from cancer and this enables me to do exercises.

i turned it on today and i got the blue logo and a green bar and once this disappeared all i got is a grey screen with no audio start up.

my son has tried rebooting it, doing a factory reset and even connecting it to the pc and doing the updates but nothing works.

i have looked online and some people are saying it is broken, surely something that cost nearly £500 should last more than two years.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I really need this for my rehabilitation.

    Hi Russell69143​ 🙂

    Sweat/moisture which found its way into the headset is pretty often the culprit of a black/grey screen... you said you use it for exercise.

    You can try to fix it by using a hairdryer(no heat) like shown in the video.

     

    If this doesn't work look for repair sevice like "Fix my Oculus" - if you are in the US - or google for a vr headset repair service in your country.
