Headset clock issue

Hello,

I am reaching out on behalf of one of our clients. I work for a nursing VR application that is offered through AppLab, and our client reported that when they try to install our application, they receive an error saying, “Your clock is ahead, a private connection cant be established because your date and time are incorrect.” Then, it does not allow them to change the clock.

Do you have any specific steps that I can share with the client for how to resolve this issue? If this can also be expedited that would be greatly appreciated, as they do have some sessions to run in our product very soon.

Thank you,

Manuel

This is a user only forum so we can only help with headset troubleshooting . We cannot help with specific app designs or operation.

There are no Meta staff here on this particular forum

For something like this, possibly you can post your query on the developers forum. Link is below and I hope you can get it resolved. 🤞🤞

Hi there,

Thank you for your reply, I appreciate it. However, in this case, the client is looking for how to fix the time issue on the headset itself. Would this still go to the developer forum?

Thanks again,

Manuel

That's a, good question Manuel! I've never seen this issue before.

Is it possible the regional settings are incorrect somewhere causing it to show a, different time. The Quest normally uses the time zone as per the WiFi signal but I did find this as a possible fix if it's wrong.

How to update or force the time zone:

  • Sync via Mobile App: Open the Meta Horizon app on the smartphone paired with your headset. Ensure your phone has the correct time zone and location permissions turned on, then connect the headset to the same Wi-Fi network to force a sync.
  • Reboot on Wi-Fi: Turn off the Quest 3 completely, connect to a active Wi-Fi connection (or a mobile hotspot set to the target region), and restart the headset so it fetches updated time data via Network Time Protocol (NTP).
  • Workaround via SideQuest (Advanced): If the time zone remains incorrect, you can open the hidden native Android system settings on the device using an activity launcher or sideloaded tool like SideQuest to access the underlying Android Date & Time settings menu directly.

Give it a try and good luck.

Here is also a support email address just in case.
