Hey everyone! I just got an update from our internal team and it looks like with versions 60 and onward we'll start to see even more improvements to this.

If you continue to run into this, I'd recommend making sure you're on the latest version by going to your System settings and checking the Software Updates section. Along with that, I would suggest submitting a bug report that'll send any necessary information over to our engineers for them to look into.

We got my son the oculus 3 for Christmas. It is the 512gig size. When he tries to play Golf plus, sometimes it will work, sometimes it will crash and sometimes it will tell him he doesn’t have enough memory to run the game.

any ideas?

Hey there! We're happy to hear that your son has joined our Meta quest 3 family. We also appreciate you bringing this issue to our concern to our attention. We know how frustrating having Golf plus continuously crash must be and definitely don't want this to negatively impact your experience when gaming. So rest assured, we'll be happy to assist you.

To start, we'd like to gather a few details from you, so that we can look into this a bit further:

  • How long has this been an issue for you?
  • Have you tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling it?
  • Have you tried rebooting your headset by turning it off and turning it back on?
  • Have you tried factory resetting the device by using the steps provided here?

We'll be looking forward to hearing back from you on this.

Please stop telling people to factory reset their headset just because it's a little more work to do the investigating and a little bit of digging to find out what the exact problem might be. Factory resets are not a universal fix-all!!! Factory resets are extremely annoying and take forever!!! Also when there's a solution out of 16 to 100 plus pages of replies and comments do have enough decency to pin the actual solution to the problem to the very beginning of the thread or at the very least pin something saying that tech support is clueless and will pin a solution to the beginning of the thread when (and IF) any are found... Thank you

P.S. I'm having the same issue with mid game crashing due to "OOM."

So every time I try to play broken edge ill fight one or 2 guys and then the game crashes and hits me with the low memory "There is not enough space to run broken edge". Ive tried resetting the quest and reinstalling the game but nothing works. Ive had the quest 3 for about a week and a half, i bought the 512 GB one as well and i have 460 GB left. I can play sports scramble and poker stars though as those are my only other games right now, so im not sure how to go about fixing this?

This is something that has been happening for about a week.

Hello there! We see you both are having a similar situation where an app keeps crashing while playing. We understand how this can cause disruptions, and we would like to provide you both with some useful information to get you both back to playing these amazing games as usual. You mentioned that this is only happening with this app. We would like to lead you both in the right direction by contacting the game developers here to troubleshoot and determine what could be causing this crash. As for roko.1127, you will contact the developer for that game here.

Remember, you can always reach out to us if you come across any other questions, and we will be happy to assist!

This bug is very annoying... I reset all my headsets (15 oculus Go) with fresh install... and 2 weeks later, already 6 headsets are out of storage ! One or two years from now everything was fine ðŸ™„ why meta is adding bugs ! I am going to leave this brand, this is not professional ðŸ˜Ą

Storage space is not memory. RAM is memory. This has nothing to do with how many apps or games you have installed.

If it was the RAM, a simple shutdown and restart should have solved the problem...
But in this case no, the headset "auto-saturate" itself.
True or false, the system thinks it has no disk space left.

I'm also running into this issue. In Contractors, on the Quest 3 at least, this"low memory" issue causes most of the textures to appear low quality. It also sometimes crashes when viewing my loadouts. I say most as the TFVR loadout and map textures work fine as far as I can notice. But other than that, the vanilla and most modded textures for guns, weapon icons in the loadouts, maps, objectives, even the activity icons in your own lobby becomes lower quality. Even when you're setting up a game, the map picture will stay a blurry mess.

I'm going to go ahead and close this thread as we're over a year on from the initial reports (from users running v53) and the replies appear to be a mix of low storage and low memory issues. Here's some quick guidance to help future viewers of the thread:

If you're experiencing a low storage error:
Enable Cloud Backup and complete a factory reset.
This will clear all the data from the device including any unused files that may be clogging up your storage.

If you're experiencing a low memory error:
Delete the app's data/cache.
Open Settings > Select Storage > Select Delete App Data icon next to the app
These steps seem to fix issues with VR Chat in particular

If you're continuing to experience issues after completing these steps, please submit a bug report to the app's developers (you can find their details on the app's Meta Horizon Store page) and to our developers.
