Question

Legacy Oculus migration stuck, Facebook login does nothing, private support messages also fail

I'm trying to recover/migrate a legacy Oculus account.

The Meta Horizon app recognizes that I have a legacy account and tells me to log in with the Facebook account previously associated with it. My Facebook account works normally, but when I select it during the migration flow, nothing happens. There is no visible error and I cannot proceed.

I also tried contacting MetaStoreHelp privately through the forum, but the private-message form itself fails when I try to send the message. The only indication of an error appears in the browser JavaScript console.

I need help completing the legacy Oculus-to-Meta account migration while preserving the purchases and entitlements associated with the legacy account.

Could MetaStoreHelp please reply here with a working way to contact support or help escalate this account migration issue?

It's a scam. Either you have already migrated to a Meta account OR your legacy account is already permanently deleted.

MetaStoreHelp isn't here anymore, not since 2025. There are no Meta staff here, no Meta moderators or community managers. As steve_40 says, you either migrated your Oculus account already or it's gone for good. Be careful as you may already have compromised your security.

So it is impossible to get support?

You won't get your Oculus account back if you ignored the multiple warning mails sent in late 2023 and up to April 2024  if you don't have the user specific code that was sent via email after the final warning. Just one thing, if you got an email recently telling you that you could get that account back, it's already been reported by some people as a scam. The only way to recover an old Oculus account is via the method outlined. This question has already been answered, by steve_40 and myself, why are you asking again?

I was finally able to talk with support after entering the serial number for my device. They confirmed that the migration email I received is legitimate and that migration was possible until 9/21/26. All concerns were resolved.

That's... unexpected. You'd think Meta could have posted an official Announcement in these forums to explain the situation with account migration. Oh, well.

Yeah, that would be much better than leaving people in the dark about suspicious emails.🙄

My issues had nothing to do with the email, but it is what prompted me to look into my Oculus/Meta account after years of my Quest collecting dust.

I figured spoofing the domain and Google validation would be difficult, so it was likely real. I went directly to the offical URL, which I also verified, instead of following the link in the email just in case.

The email included a redemption code, which did indeed work. I didn't attempt to use the code until Meta support informed me that the email was legitimate and that I had missed the migration deadline (9/21/26), so redeeming the code was my best option.

One unfortunate thing is that the email didn't get delivered to me until 9/22 for whatever reason. Yes, I know other emails were sent previously, and it is ultimately my fault that I missed the deadline. Still, Meta gave me a little something for my trouble, and I appreciate that.

I had to use the redemption code in order to gain access to my games again. Support did inform me that migration was possible until 9/21, though. Feel free to confirm with support if you doubt me. Have a good one.
