Locked out of account - email's deactivated

Hello my name's Trevor and im trying to log in to my meta account that i made about maybe 4 years ago. The problem is the email linked with the account is deactivated since i didn't use it for at least a year and I can't reactivate it because thats not allowed on yahoo apparently. When i follow the meta support instructions for this, it always leads me to a screen saying "try another device to continue" which does make sense because im now on a new device that ive never logged into my meta account on before. Anyways could i possibly switch the current linked email to my current email please? I'm happy to provide any info you need to verify its actually me. Sorry i wouldn't be bothering anyone if i didn't have any apps on there.

Unfortunately Trevor, you have missed the boat on this. You had until April 2024 to migrate your account to Meta from Oculus. After that date an encrypted code was sent so you could unlock your Oculus account after that date. If you don't have the code, your data is gone. Multiple emails were sent warning about it. I was lucky that I eventually paid attention to the final warning! 

Sorry you have lost access to the account and any apps or games you may have had, but without the code nobody can retrieve the data as only you had access to the code.

I ended up chatting with a meta customer support agent and after talking he took my new email and said his team was gonna work on it for about 2 business days. He never said anything about that 2024 deadline. I’m hoping it works but do you think that the meta agent was a scam?
