login loop when trying to log in with Meta Quest App

Here i am. With the same issue. All meta does is say hey. Message us. Well that clearly doesnt work.   

this is so wrong. Take your money and just leave u to dry. If they cant solve a login issue… how can they solve an actual problem? This is such a bad experience. 

help when im trying to log in with my phone (im on computer rn) it wont let me when it says keep logged in as (the my name) does anybody know anything that might help

Having *exactly* the same issue -- login loop from hell. Every time I try to log in w/ the app it boots me back to the initial log in page.

I've tried:  using passcodes 8 times; reset my password 3 times; tried on two different devices; de-installed the app, waited, re-installed the app, waited, and tried all the above again, and It. Just. Keeps. Repeating. This. Loop. From. Hell. 

Looking at this thread, it looks like this issue goes back at least a year -- has *anybody* had this resolved? 

Soooooooo frustrated, like head-through-a-wall frustrated. 

I am having very similar problems with the meta app on my phone and with the VR headsets all of a sudden.  Initially everything worked fine, i own two quest 2 headsets and my kids love them.  Then one day out of the blue they stopped working altogether.  The following is what i am experiencing now...

1. The meta app on my android phone will not allow me to login with either the Facebook or occulus account, it will either send me in an infinite loop of requesting the login when i use the occulus account or when i use the facebook account it just says "something went wrong" and sends me back to the login page.  Logging into my facebook account using the facebook app works just fine though.  However, when i disable wifi on my phone and use t-mobile 5g network the meta app works as expected.  Although on a windows PC i can log into and use both the occulus account and the facebook account just fine using the same wifi network, i am using it now to type this message on this forum.

2.  When connected to my home wifi the VR headsets will not allow the store app to open, it will also not allow you to use any apps requiring an occulus account (ex. gorilla tag will not work, but Leaf tag does!).  Since my kids primarily want to use it to play gorilla tag they have been very disappointed. 

3.  During the troubleshooting process i reset the VR headsets back to factory settings.  When they came back up i went through the setup process and it wanted to download a firmware update from meta and metasimply would not send the update package and the progress bar would freeze and downloading update and would stay like the indefinitely. 

I spent several hours on live chat with meta trying to troubleshoot the problems.  Their first conclusion was that my VR headsets were not functioning properly and started the process of exchanging them for "refurbished" units.  Obviously i wasn't happy about that since my units were only a couple months old and old had a couple hours of use on them at that point.  I ended up not going through with the exchange and continued to troubleshoot on my own.

Before accepting the resolution and closing out the live chat and being disappointed with the outcome as it did not make any logical sense to me i began trying everything i could think of.  That is when i noticed if i turned wifi off on my phone and used the 5G network then i could login to the meta app!  I was then able to figure out how to temporarily tether one of the VR headsets to my phone's 5G connection and as soon as i did that the update downloaded immediately and everything started working again!  When i told the tech support on live chat about the 5G network actually working they immediately blamed everything on my internet provider and suggested i call them to fix the problem.

The VR headsets were taken to a family members house not far away and they seem to work fine their too, they have the same internet provider and live in the same municipality.

So with the all of the above being said my best conclusion so far is that my home wifi router is not allowing the meta app and VR headsets to communicate with the meta servers properly.  This is very likely for me as i run a version of OpenWrt on my wifi router with several customized settings.  I have yet had the time to pin point the issue as of yet and just been running my phone in tether mode when the kids want to use the headsets.  Obviously the android meta app and the software on the VR headsets that authenticates the credentials works differently then logging into meta.com on a windows PC or even when logging into the Facebook app on android.  And yes i have disabled ad blockers any minimized firewall settings inside OpenWrt and its hasn't solved the problem yet.

I just fixed this by changing cookie settings on phone so it can allow the cookies that allow the sign in to function

Hey there, @virtualzombelina, and jmd8080! Login issues are no ones cup of tea, lets see what we can do to get you both logged in with ease. Just to make sure @virtualzombelina we know you've done so much troubleshooting and we're thankful for that, were you able to try a hard reboot and see if that helps?

Hard Reboot: 

• Make sure the power is fully off and the device is fully charged
• Hold down the volume down and power buttons at the same time until you see a menu
• On the menu select boot or reboot
• Highlight boot or reboot (to scroll use the volume up and down buttons)
• To select this option use the power button to do so
• This will prompt your device to restart

Also, a helpful user MrFungusen posted a suggestion, did that help you turn things around jmd8080, or @virtualzombelina. If either of you still needs some assistance, kindly let us know! 

I have the same problem, which would be fixed if I could just open it with my default app and not safari. 

Hi everyone! I seem to have encountered the issue where it keeps going on in a loop and I can't log in. It directs to my log in where I input my details and log in, but the app keeps redirecting me to login over and over again! Please get rid of this error MetaStoreHelp .
