Long-running support case: incorrect DOB prevents parental supervision

My minor son's Meta/Quest account was accidentally created with a parent's adult date of birth. The account has substantial purchase history, game progress, and other history, so simply abandoning it and creating a new account would mean losing quite a bit.

The central problem is straightforward: because the account still shows an adult DOB, Meta Family Center will not allow me to supervise the account. We have already gone through Meta's requested age/identity verification process, but the DOB remains unchanged. Attempts to correct it through Accounts Center lead to a circular message telling us to use Accounts Center on a desktop/laptopβ€”even when we are already doing exactly that.

Meta Store Support has kept our case open and sends regular emails saying the issue is still being investigated, which I appreciate. However, after several months there has been no substantive progress or indication that the account has reached a team capable of correcting the DOB/account age state.

The goal is simply to preserve the established account while allowing a parent to properly supervise a minor's Quest account.

    Hi PatSplat23 πŸ™‚

Unfortunately, the moderators here are employees of the forum software provider, no Meta staff. They can't help you.

You have to deal with support.

What about giving your existing account(with the adult birthdate) to a child?

Or did support already metioned this as an option?
