Hello, i have recently bought a meta quest 3 and cant seem to remove the blurriness from words, and my surroundings seem very pixelated, i have sorted out my IPD already and adjusted the headset accordingly but just cant get the blur out of words. I have not ever owned or used a VR headset before and im not to sure what i should be comparing this to as i may have to high expectations from VR and the level of blurriness that im seeing is normal.

Thank you!

You are expecting too much from VR technology 🤷‍♂️. Technologies such as nVidia DLSS/DLAA don't apply to VR. Textures in VR will be substantially lower res and AA will be poorer in VR compared to what you get on your monitor.

That's interesting. The screen is actually very clear and crisp under normal circumstances. Possibly you might need corrective spectacles, if so I recommend getting the attachable lenaes as wearing glasses isn't so comfortable. The lenses are very close to your eyes, hardly any distance at all so it could be an undiagnosed limitation you have that isn't immediately apparent. If you are using glasses it might be an idea to get a new test. If none of that applies to you, there might be a headset problem so here is a direct email to support.. And good luck!

Hi Vivid_night 🙂

As Maccyb123 the view in the Quest 3 is sharp. Words should not be blurry... it's not like that for me.

Maybe try if changing the distance of the facemask makes a difference, you can also move the front up and down a bit.

If nothing helps you should bring back the Quest to where you bought it and get either a new one or a refund.

If you ask Meta support for a replacement, you'll get a refurbished Quest, not a new one!

This is absolutely fine to me, if I had the headset already a few months.

You've just bought yours... in that case, I would prefer getting a new headset in exchange.

I will have a look at the quality i was using on steam vr as it may have been a case of i forgot to turn up the quality as my games are tuned for a 1440x2560 screen.

When playing standalone Quest games, or in the Loft, everything should be pretty clear by default, correct?

If you are playing PCVR games, then the clarity depends on the connection bitrate, Steam (or Link) resolution multiplier settings and in-game graphics settings, and the power of your PC & GPU.

It is not completely clear but it is significantly better. I doubt it would be my pc as i have a 5080. I will look at getting a wired connection cable for the headset.

PCVR looks pretty good using Airlink on my 5080. Check your settings in the PC app:

I have got the blur out of words so they are readable now, however when i start to get closer or further away from words they seem to blur alot more. And the textures such as along a flat surface seem to be very jagged and low quality even in the loft. Im not really to sure of maybe the headset isnt adjusted right or im doing something wrong.
