Meta Quest Remote Desktop Stuck in Login Loop In my Mac

The remote desktop app after validating the log in from the browser for the meta account asks to try again after 2-5 minutes and something went wrong. I tried restarting and re-installing the application but of no help.

What can be done?

Sounds like the login/auth session between the browser and the Remote Desktop app is failing after authentication completes.

A few things I would try on macOS:

    • Completely quit the Meta Quest Remote Desktop app from the menu bar and Activity Monitor before retrying
    • Clear cookies/cache for meta.com and try logging in again in an incognito window
    • Make sure VPNs, ad blockers, or firewall software are disabled temporarily
    • Verify that the default browser is the same browser completing the login flow
    • Check that the Mac date/time is set automatically (auth tokens can fail if system time is wrong)

Also check whether the app has permissions under:
System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility / Screen Recording

Same problem here on a Mac with a Quest 3, and it has never worked since I installed it in August 2026. The browser login succeeds (Meta even records it as a new login in Accounts Center), the browser redirects back to the app, and then the app says "Something went wrong, try again in 2-5 minutes."

The app's log (~/Library/Application Support/Meta Quest Remote Desktop/) shows this right after the redirect, every time:

Login failed: TypeError: expected dynamic type 'int/double/bool/string', but had type 'null'

Tried versions 108.0.0.2.109 and a clean reinstall of 109.0.0.2.108. Ruled out network/DNS, the system clock, VPN/ad blockers, the macOS keychain, the browser (Safari logs into the correct Meta account), and pending security alerts on the account. It looks like the server sends back an empty field when the app trades the login for its token, so it seems to be on Meta's side. I've opened a support ticket. Has anyone found a fix, or can a Meta moderator escalate this?

Not a Mac user, but I think you need to install Meta Virtual Display app on your Mac:
