Oculus Quest Link gives a black screen when I open my Desktop

I've read many articles, posts, and websites about this issue. Everything says to "set OVRServer_x64 to Power Saving mode." I've done that multiple times. I've also re-installed the Oculus app, twice. I've re-downloaded all my NVIDIA and AMD drivers. I have no clue what to do. Quest link worked a week ago, now it doesn't.
I can add desktop panels, and use them, but I can't see my desktop.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hey guys,

I tried the steps install and uninstalled everything, but when I enter oculus link it is just a black screen ( I have rings under me) I am using a macbook type c-c cable (might be the issue) and I bought a second hand Quest 1. My computer spec is:

Omen 15:
Ryzen 4800

RTX 2060, 6 gb

32gb 3200 ram

2tb storage

My spec should be good enough, I have sat on my table for 4 hours trying to fix it to no avail.

The link used to work just to display some boundary boxes, but it can't connect to steamvr ( I am trying to run HL alyx on it) I beg anyone who can help or someone from meta to help me to resolve this issue.

Best,
Jose

I'm having the same issue with my quest 3. Is there a fix for this?

Same issue a year later. DO they have monkeys working at Meta or what?

I have the same issue, My laptop is 5 years old with a Nvidia card. It seems Meta doesn't want to solve this. How will we be able to play PC games linked without being able to see the desktop? This is unacceptable.

Resetting the meta link from the meta desktop app settings fixed it for me every time it didn't work but it was annoying. A permanent fix was buying Virtual Desktop. I hate that we have to spend extra money after already shelling out big $$ for the device. My next upgrade will definitely NOT be from Meta.

the problem is that your noteboot is using integrated amd gpu for drawing desktop and meta link is using discrete nvidia.

My solution: go to bios, change Hybrid Graphics to Discrete.

Hi,

I’m experiencing the exact same issue, the virtual desktop inside the headset displays a black screen across all 3 monitors.

I have followed all the steps you provided earlier, but the issue still persists.

Here are my laptop specifications for reference:

Operating System: Windows 11 Enterprise 24H2 (Build 26100.6899)
• Processor: Intel® Core™ Ultra 7 165H
• Model: HP ZBook Studio 16 inch G11
• RAM: 64 GB DDR5 @ 5600 MHz (SODIMM)
• GPU 1: NVIDIA RTX 3000 Ada Generation Laptop GPU
• GPU 2: Intel® Arc™ Integrated GPU

Headset: Oculus Quest 3

Could you please assist further? Thank you!
