Old Oculus / Gear VR account deleted – purchased games lost and unable to log in

Hi,

I'm trying to recover access to my old Oculus account purchases that I used with Samsung Gear VR.

I recently brought my old Samsung Galaxy S8+ and Gear VR back to life. I managed to install and launch the original Oculus/Gear VR software and all required Oculus components successfully.

The first problem is that I cannot log into the Oculus app.

The legacy app still offers Oculus login and Facebook login. My old Oculus credentials no longer work, and the new Meta account I have created cannot be used to log into the legacy Oculus/Gear VR application either.

I then discovered that my old Oculus account had been deleted because I did not complete the migration to a Meta account before the March 29, 2024 deadline.

is particularly important to me because I purchased a number of games and applications directly from the Oculus Store for Gear VR, and I would like to regain access to that library.

I still have access to the original email address associated with the old Oculus account. I also have:

original Oculus Store purchase receipts from 2017 and later,

Meta/Oculus emails concerning the required migration and eventual deletion of the Oculus account,

access to the original email account used for Oculus.

I searched the mailbox thoroughly and I cannot find any recovery coupon/code from Meta that would allow me to recover the purchases from the deleted Oculus account.

I have now created a new Meta account using the same email address that was associated with the old Oculus account.

I therefore need help with two related issues:

Recovering the games/apps purchased on my old Oculus account, either by restoring the entitlements to my current Meta account or by obtaining/reissuing the recovery code/coupon if one was originally generated.

Being able to log into the legacy Oculus/Gear VR application on my Galaxy S8+, so that I can actually download and use those purchases again on my original Gear VR hardware.

I understand that the original Oculus account itself may no longer be recoverable. What I am hoping to recover is access to the content I purchased and, if technically possible, the ability to use it again with Gear VR.

I can provide the old Oculus email address, original purchase receipts, transaction/order details and migration/deletion emails privately to verify ownership.

Could someone from Meta Quest/Store Support please contact me via private message so I can provide the necessary account information?

    Yep. And now it's gone. Permanently. If you don't have the recovery code that Meta sent you, there's nothing anyone can do.

      There is no Meta support here. It's a user only forum. There are no Meta community managers, no Meta moderators, nobody from Meta will see this. I also had the Gear VR and eventually after numerous warnings I migrated my account thinking maybe I'll try VR again.. You would have gotten a code in an email.. It's an auto generated code that only you have access to for security reasons.. If you don't have that, your purchases are gone unfortunately. 

      If you want to try, you'll need to contact Meta support through your Horizon app or website. But, as Meta people won't be able to find your purchases without your code which only you can give them, they won't be able to do anything.. What you're trying is equivalent to looking for your ticket to the Titanic after the ship has sunk. 😁🛳️ 

      You'll just have to move on. One thing though, a lot of the games that were available on the Gear VR  are very cheap now, if they're still compatible with the Quest, a lot of them aren't and are no longer available, because the Gear VR is of course discontinued. Of course you'd have to buy a new headset.

        Maybe it was in the spam folder?

        My mail program deletes spam mails itself after some time. I would never be able to find a mail in that folder that was sent years ago.🤷‍♀️
