Question

Please add a toggle to disable system UI click sounds!

Controllers already provide clear haptic vibration feedback, making force-fed UI sound effects completely redundant.

Currently, these click/tap sounds cannot be turned off. The sound triggered when pressing the Meta button is especially sharp and causes severe sensory discomfort. The issue is far worse when using headphones, as the high-frequency sound directly blasts the ears.

I get your point that you don't want it, I think it provides excellent feedback.

However If you cannot handle the sound of a click, how can you handle the full spectrum of other frequencies including the frequency of the click when you are playing games and using headphones? The click is a far lower frequency than the sounds from most games, music etc.  If the click is causing those issues, by that measure, you literally should not be able to listen to any normal sounds coming from, not just the headset but the environment in general.  Something does not add up with your comment.

All I asked for is a basic toggle switch in the settings, exactly like every normal Android device, iOS, or PC has. Giving users the option to turn it on or off doesn't hurt anyone who likes it.

True enough, but this isn't a normal Android device, iOS or PC.. It's a VR headset that relies a lot more on auditory feedback. As I haven't seen anyone else complain, I doubt they're going to change it just for you.  Anyway I gave you a link to talk to Meta. So feel free to talk to them.

I've just noticed you joined about 40 minutes ago and this comment appeared just a few minutes later. Are you here to troll? If so it will be flagged.

Nobody signs up and posts on a forum for no reason. I’m here because I encountered a real, painful issue while using the headset, which is caused by a missing basic system feature. If everything worked as comfortably as it should, I wouldn't need to be here.

Seeking help for a genuinely uncomfortable issue isn't 'trolling.' Missing a basic toggle switch for UI sounds is a clear design flaw in Horizon OS, especially when using high-quality headphones. As a new user, I came here to suggest a reasonable feature, not to be dismissed or accused just for providing constructive feedback.

I tried to disable the click sounds using ADB commands, but Meta's UI click sound is clearly not following the standard Android framework. Even if it temporarily works, as soon as you adjust the volume, the sound effect comes back and the command has to be executed all over again. This is honestly way too stupid.

Furthermore, controlling this type of sound feedback should naturally be part of accessibility services. Users should be given a standard toggle in the settings.

OK,, as you are finding this sound actually painful, you should definitely visit a hearing specialist. I've never heard anyone complain about it, so you shouldn't hold your breath.. I still cannot understand if that click which is certainly not sounding high frequency to the other millions of users I seriously wonder how you don't spend your whole llfe in ear muffs. However, complaining here won't help as there are no Meta staff, no Meta moderators, no Meta community managers here, just users, nobody will see your request. I've posted a link below with 3 options to talk to a human support person at Meta rather than an AI, and you can make your request.

Good luck, and again, get your hearing tested just to be sure you aren't suffering from a dangerous illness.
