Quest 2, virtual display app, no audio

I do not hear audio from my pc through the headset when i connect via virtual display. The bar at the top with the resolution icon etc does not include the speaker icon nor the settings icon. Though the rest are present.

My pc is using windows 11, I uninstalled the link app and got a copy from the website and reinstalled. I hear audio when using air link and usb link but not when using virtual display. I make sure the audio output is set to the oculus virtual audio device. The audio settings in the link app show mic and speaker volume greyed out and at zero. While the 2 options to hear sound from headset and pc and the other are both turned on.

 I have uninstalled the driver and ran the repair tool from the link app installer to restore it. Nothing has worked so far.
