Quest 3 stuck in Battery Saver Mode

So I toggled the battery saver mode 3 days ago and ofc it lowered resolution. I wanted to test the feature. So I toggled it on, saw the change, and then toggled it off. When I turned it off, the resolution stayed the same, the fovetated size stayed the same. Everything was the same as if I was still on battery saver mode (with full charge on the headset).

I ignored this issue until today as I cannot deal with it anymore. I restarted the device, resolution is still low, text is pixelated, FOV is terrible, everything warped. The headset thinks I'm in battery saver mode still. Tried toggling it on and off and there is literally no change when turning it on, and of course no change when going back to off.

Please help.

I'm on v60

META, why exactly is a factory reset NOT resetting the headset back to the way it came from the factory?

Other people with this issue, when you get the v68 update, please post here and let us know if it fixes it.. because they need feedback or something but also i need to know if i need to send in my headset in a few days to get a replacement or not haha

These last two updates come across as intentionally antagonistic. Please tell us if the new update accidentally fixes this problem? Huh?

Why doesn’t anyone working on it knowif this is the case or not?

I know right? like man what is going on over there.. it's like they're keeping this a secret between just a few people at meta and they're not willing to fix it.. it feels mocking.. or like they couldn't care less whatsoever.. AliceinVRworld we need complete transparency about what is going on with this issue.. what efforts are being made (no efforts from our perspective), any progress.. because the amount of time this is taking and the lack of communication and especially the nature of these "updates" as jof said, do not come across well at all.

But hold on guys.. clearly the entirety of the team is too busy desperately trying to imitate the Vision Pro features and experience.. like yeah guys.. i can't wait to look at my brand new media player with dimmable passthrough.. in 480p 72hz.. like..

Oh.. what is the main struggle with Meta VR headsets? user retention? oh ok.. i can't wait to keep using my headset while staring at the pixels i wasn't seeing before.. for no reason.. i'm so enthusiastic about putting my headset back on again.. but don't worry guys, this isn't an important issue, we're getting dimmable rooms

A few of us need to get together and report this to the gaming media and the big vr YouTube channels etc. Like you said it’s clearly being kept secret and nothing is being  done at all. These updates make it sound like they have me zero progress with this

I bet this affects 30 percent or more of headsets its literally a scam that needs to be reported.

Meta are not going to listen

to anyone in this thread.

Not exactly sure how, but mine seems to have fixed itself. I had tried multiple factory resets with no luck a while back. I got back to it yesterday and noticed it had an update available (I think to V67?), so I let that process before getting into a PCVR session through Virtual Desktop. I checked on a whim and now I'm seeing the resolution changing as I select different options in Virtual Desktop. That's good enough for me.

No.. I'm sorry.. we're not doing this.. you're not gonna ignore everything else in this thread and reply to that one guy that said his fixed itself (because he sees the resolution changing in virtual desktop.. although i'm sure he's just seeing the difference in detail from changing the graphics in virtual desktop.. there's more detail rendered on the computer but his headset resolution must be the same).. it's like your so desperate to make it look like anything's being fixed at all to any degree even tho it's not.. just to take away from that effect for you.. no... it's not fixed.. it's not good enough for anyone else with this issue. I'm on v68 and the isue is still persisting. Reply to this.

(yes i use virtual desktop too.. no it doesn't fix the issue.. even tho the PCVR games are graphically impressive a lot of the time, the screendoor effect from the battery saver mode is still there.)

I guess I have been wrong on this topic πŸ˜‚

I finally got around to trying some proper games  instead of beat saber and the quality is terrible.  All the details are there but the entire picture has a low res crapness to it

I tried Assasins creed, Asgards Wrath 2 and tiger blade

rubbish

Meta please focus on this issue!

There are literally thousand of devices locked in low resolution, with "stair effect" on every line surface and flickering/not rendered in-game menus!

I just discovered today that this issue is WELL know from last year and it's crazy to me that was not fixed yet!

_____

I had a new device that was fine till I had to replace it and they gave me a refurbished one with this bug even if it was factory reseted. I noticed from day 1 that the resolution was super poor but I accepted at first... now I can't accept this quality anymore after all this months, it's really unpleasant to see that **bleep** horrible lines.

PLEASE DO SOMETHING!  Main discussion here:

All of metas time seems to be spent adding tons of new features every month instead of fixing the display on a visual device where thousands are broken out of the box

The mods on here dont reply to anything regarding this, just the occasional comment it is being worked on apparently

no one has made any in game videos with something like OVR metrics to show the lower resolution which would be actual proof loads of people would see online. Instead people are just talking about it and which makes it look more theoretical than anything imo

I would do this myself but don’t know enough so if anyone could help me with this that would be great

support flat out deny it even exists and won’t swap units after a few refunds

so it’s either game optimiser or wait for a fix

Please give concrete updates. Ask if you don't have them... IT'S MORE THAN 9 MONTHS WE HAVE THIS ISSUE!

Meta literally gave me a refurbished device with this bug active even after they own factory reset!!! This is complete madness! I've spent over 800€  + Accessories, are kidding me? I feel so d4mn scammed!

You can't came out at every updates saying "Check if there are any changes with the new update"... Developers knows perfectly what the updates they release are fixing, and if you saying that probably none of them is aware that thousand of people have a junk device in their hands that works worse than a Quest 2.

I refuse to think that a Developer is leaving for almost a year a stupid bug like this that is impacting THOUSAND of people that stupidly touched a button... and even worse, Meta is giving broken refurbished units that were probably given back because of that issue....... I can't believe I put my money in this brown lake....
