Umpteenth replacement incoming...

Hey there,

So, I bought my first Meta Quest 3 almost a year and a half ago... and after a few months, it died. Black Screen, no connectivity, factory reset does nothing... and was told to send it in for RMA replacement.

Then that one died.

Then the next one...

... and the one after that...

... then one time it died after less than two weeks...

... and again today.

I've honestly lost track. I know it's been at least 5 headsets have died on me. Every time I've asked for what the cause might be... but no one can tell me.

I'm told I'm an outlier... that people have enjoyed a single headset for years without issues or needing replacements... but I've never had a headset that lasted more than a few months. So I'm really starting to think it must be me.... but again... no one can tell me.

Presumably someone checks the dead headsets for what the issue might've been. Because presumably Meta has some sort of interest in the failure points of their products. But that data is, as I was told today "for internal use only". All I need is for one person to tell me "just don't do [insert problem(s) here], and you'll be fine."

But no one can tell me.

So... if someone who has access to that information is reading this. I beg of you... please... tell me what the problems were. Tell me what I should avoid doing. Then maybe I won't be hounding you  for a replacement headset every 2 to 4 months.

Hi Chree55 🙂

I beg of you... please... tell me what the problems were. Tell me what I should avoid doing.

So, how should we do that. 🤔

Not only that none of us has looked into your dead headsets - even more important... you told us nothing about how you use or handle your Quest.

Are you doing workouts, means are you sweatig a lot? Have a shower and use it with wet hair?

Do you have pets which thinks a Quest is a great place to sleep on?

steve_40  summerized it pretty well... using a crystal ball is our only option to give your an answer.

If you have not looked into my dead headsets, then you are not the person I'm asking for information from. Meta customer service told me to post here in hopes that someone from the staff could look into it.

If that's not something that I can get here, then I don't need this post anymore, and I can just delete it.

And if those are things I should avoid, then I will.

Chree55 Unfortunately they can send people here just to fob you off when they think they can't do anything for you.
