star.commander.2022 You can have as many headsets as you would like under 1 account, yes.

However if there's multiple headsets logged into said account at once, they wouldn't be able to use the same application.

This would also kind of throw off the cloud backup since its trying to overwrite one backup with one from a different headset at the same time.

Hello,

I am very interested in an answer to this question.  I am in the same boat.  I have multiple Meta Quest 2 headsets that I need to set up for classroom use.  The only difference is that we would be using a 3rd party VR software.

Hi there! We appreciate you letting us know your experience with your multiple devices and would be more than happy to get you the information you need and deserve! When activating a device you do need an account per headset so it can be played together with a few others. At the time being there is not a way to use the devices under the same account at the same time as it will cause them to sign out from the account if played together.

We appreciate your patience and your understanding and if you ever have any other questions in the future don't hesitate to reach out!

Is there any way that my wife and I can play against each other. Forever darts will sign one of us out. If not now are you working on that for the future and do you have an eta on that? Thanks.

Totally agree! It would be helpful to make sure buyers are aware of this issue with the devices. We bought 2 for Christmas thinking we could use play games together etc. is Meta working to address this? Apple Music and other platforms seem to have figured out how to manage similar challenges.

Did you get this sorted? Ive just bought 2 for my kids that I wanted to manage, i got one set up fine, but as soon as I added the other to the account it overwrote the profile, so now my son has my daughters username and im very confused

Hey there, benearbehere1. We hear you and know how this may have put a damper on your VR experience, and it is not something we like to hear. We would like you to know that our engineers and developers are always looking for ways to improve features and the experience for all of our Quest users. If you have any ideas or feedback about how to improve the parental control features for this, we encourage you to make a suggestion in the ideas forums. If you have any other questions or concerns, feel free to reach back out. Thank you for your understanding.

I recently bought Quest 3S, and since I already have Quest 3, I would like both to have the same account, but 3S will have app sharing features and a second account for other in my family to use, to enjoy Quest+ subscription that I have. Is this possible? I will be picking up my new Quest 3S tomorrow.

Yes, it is possible. You need to set it up. Also, have you know about referral credit for the store you can get?

Yes, I am aware, but isn't it going to make Batman game belonged to the new account that set up? Or can I just redeem it with my own account?

I'm running a couple of tests about using the same account for two Quest 3, and the results have been a bit strange, especially with paid apps.

I got other Quest 3 (the same model as mine), set up my own account, and tried the RC app I've uploaded as a developer. It didn't give me any problems; I was able to use them simultaneously.

The most extraordinary thing is that I tried using Beat Saber on both headsets at the same time, and it didn't give me any problems, even though it's a paid app. I played the same song, and it played on both devices, and no panels, sales, or notifications appeared. I also tried Moss 2, and it didn't have any problems either.

So, I don't understand anything.

Hi all,

What's the latest solution on this?

I am working on a class with 12 Meta 3 headsets, and was wondering if we could do this with 1 meta account.

In our case, we are using STYLY, so even if we are using the same Meta account, individual student will sign in to their own STYLY account inside of the free STYLY app.  I am just curious would this be fine using the meta account.

many thanks!

cheers,

This is a four year old thread but I believe (as per prior industry standards) the conclusion/solution offered is inadequate and wrong-minded.

This is what profiles are for.  Cloud backup and storage in typical computing scenarios use profiles in support of applications which offer multi-seat licensing.  This is critical to users who wish to use some number of headsets  on the same local area network for shared  experiences such as:

Enjoying movies together with family and friends,
Collaborative content creation,
Roundtable business meetings,
Corporate customer local presentations,
Games such as "The Two Of Us" or "Portal 2"
etcetera...

If profiles rather than Meta Accounts were used then each application developer would have the choice of offering multi-seat licensing. Account owners acting then as an Admin, could also more easily administrate updates, account control, permissions, and so forth - as per established standardized computing.

Forcing Meta Account partitioning on these scenarios is also disadvantageous  and more costly for Meta formally TheFacebook, Inc., considering both account maintenance and data center server load. Additionally, for those concerned with green ecology, using profile rather than account partitioning would reduce electrical consumption for every participating end user as well as within the data center. The (costly) power savings are assumed to be enormous without specific calculation on privately available logging data.

For your consideration...
