Virtual Virtual Reality broken on Quest Pro

Launching the game Virtual Virtual Reality (by Tender Claws) seems broken on Quest Pro.

The game launches but the controllers/hands/cursor are not recognized by the game and I can not interact with it.

Clicking the Oculus/Meta button reveals the shell/Navigator with the controllers rendering just fine. Clicking to go back to VVR and they disappear again.

This is a classic game and I wanted to check out the recent Anniversary update but it isn't working. This is after a fresh factory reset of the headset and 2-3 reinstalls of the game.

Anyone else having this issue?

Same in Chess Club, too.

Hi ohdubya πŸ™‚

maybe you should contact the devs of those games about the issue with the Pro controllers.

I don't have a Pro, but tested the games on Quest 3, here both games are working fine.

Thanks Choleni but I sent an email to Tender Claws about 10 days ago with no response. I also asked for support on the Odders/Chess Club Discord that same day and have received no response from anyone on the support/dev team. I even sent video clips.

Again, just to be clear...this is after a factory reset of the headset and multiple app reinstalls. I am not enrolled in PTC, as that can be a game of russian roulette with Quest Pro in general!

I suspect it comes from the relentless firmware pushes from Meta and not from the games, because I was enjoying Chess Club not too long ago!

I see.....

I thought you did the factory reset BECAUSE the games are not working properly.πŸ€ͺπŸ˜…

Too bad that the devs don't reply.

I hope, some of the Pro users here can tell you if they have the same issue.

I assume, you already sent a bug report?

For anyone following or reading this thread, I got a reply from Tender Claws and they confirmed this issue with Quest Pro, caused by firmware updates.

While they were very friendly and sympathetic to my frustration, there's no indication that this issue CAN or WILL be fixed.

"We are investigating whether it's possible to resolve this issue on our end."

This is a huge bummer and it falls directly at Meta's feet.

Very annoying πŸ™..... hopefully, it gets fixed with one of the next updates.

If you haven't already done so..... I would  not only send a bug report, but also raise a support ticket.

You can do that via email, chat or WhatsApp HERE

Thanks again Choleni for your replies and sympathies :P

I've submitted bug reports with screen shots and video clips.

I hope Meta fixes this but I won't hold my breath. I love my Quest Pro but it has had issue after issue since launch and I believe Meta has all but officially written it off.

There is something deeply wrong with the Quest platform; that a game like Virtual Virtual Reality which is so foundational to the VR medium could be left in this condition due to Meta's constant bungling and re-bungling of the OS, and devs acknowledging that there is no line of sight on a course of action.

Like I said, huge bummer.

I'm very VERY happy to report that Tender Claws pushed a new update to VVR and it seems to work now!

Extra special thank you to Tender Claws not just for squashing the bug, but following up via email. Gives me hope that VR is still being cared for, even if it takes a little time.

Excited to be able to start a fresh playthrough on this classic game !
