Question

Warranty page shows active coverage, but replacement portal says expired

My Meta Quest 3 512GB boots to a blank gray screen and is unusable. I have already completed a hard reboot, factory reset, USB Update Mode recovery, and the official Meta Software Update Tool, but the issue remains.

My Meta device page says the headset is under warranty until March 16, 2027. However, the replacement portal says the warranty has ended and requests $359.99 for a replacement.

I purchased the headset from Best Buy on March 16, 2025, and I have the receipt and screenshots documenting the conflicting warranty information. The automated support assistant has repeatedly redirected me without creating a support case.

Hi MooseKaboos 🙂

I purchased the headset from Best Buy on March 16, 2025

Warranty is - in most countries - 1 year. So, if you haven't bought an extended warranty it should be expired since March 2026.

You can talk to Meta support via email, chat or WhatsApp HERE.

In case your warranty has been expired, you also have the option to send the Quest to a repair service like Fix my Oculus... definetely less expensive than buying a refurbished headset from Meta.🙃

The standard Meta manufacturer limited warranty on Quest headsets in both the US and Canada is 1 year from the date of purchase or delivery.  There is no 2 year Meta warranty in that region.

However if you are in Europe you are entitled to a 2 year warranty period. I'm guessing that if you bought it from Best Buy, you are in the US or Canada which is a standard 1 year.

It may be that Best Buy offered you an additional 1 year beyond the standard from Meta. I assume the receipt you have is from Best Buy and if the 2 year warranty is printed there, you should contact Best Buy as they will need to honor the warranty offered to you as Meta don't do that.

Just for your information this is a user only forum, there are no Meta Support reps and Meta do not monitor this forum, so you will not hear anything from Meta here.

If you want to talk to a human support person at Meta, there is a link to 3 options below. Try WhatsApp first.

However you should first check with Best Buy, as only the seller can offer warranty beyond the standard 1 year or maybe they charged you an extra premium for the additional year?

As I said, If the 2 year warranty is from Best Buy, talk to them. Good luck, here's the Meta link anyway m.
