Casting to phone does not show the full view

When I cast my Meta Quest 3 to my phone with screen ratio 21:9, I see pretty much nothing of what the person is looking at and I constantly tell them to look down. Then I noticed that even when I record the screen or when I take a screenshot, what I see doesn't align with what's recorded. In the video below I trace the edges of my field of view with my finger. As you can see, there is a large portion of the video that I don't see through my headset and a large portion that I see, but it's not being recorded. Combine that with cropping the video to fit a wide-screen phone and what the person looks at is often beneath what's visible.

Hey there, SamDaniel2022! Thank you for providing this information. We understand how important it is for a person to be able to fully see what is being cast from the headset. If you have also tried all of the troubleshooting that we've provided in this thread, we highly recommend submitting this issue as a potential bug if you haven't done so. This can be done either through the headset or the mobile application, and the steps to do this can be found here.

We hope this information helps! If you have any additional questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out via PM here!

I'm also experienceing the same viewing experience. The player has to look really far down in order for the casting to see what they arew seeing. It would be nice to have a calibrating option to adjust the casting view up or down.

Got my quest 3, experiencing the same issue. Any known fixes or do I request a replacement device?

I'm still having the same issue with my Quest 3. No working fix has been posted. I think they have some sort of bot giving replies.

It would be nice if they just fixed it instead of implying that we, the users are doing something wrong. Meta is one one of the world's richest companies, you would think they'd have every aspect of their software working flawlessly.

I just got my Quest 3 at the end of December and I'm experiencing the same issue when recording a video. It's not possible to play the game if I have to stare down at my feet to get the bottom portion of the screen in view because then I can't see what's going on in the game. I'm trying to beta test a game for a developer and I need to record the experience for them, but I keep having to delete the video and start over because they can't see what I'm doing in the video. This is very frustrating, to say the least. I think there are enough people experiencing this same issue that would warrant a fix to be sent out. I don't think a replacement would fix anything, as I just got mine and apparently this issue has been going on since the Quest 3 was released.

I have the same problem on the Quest 3, and I see that nobody at Meta has felt the need to fix it even after two years?
