Question

I’ve been experiencing a really frustrating pairing and connection issue with my Meta Quest recently

I’ve been experiencing a really frustrating pairing and connection issue with my Meta Quest recently, and I’m hoping someone here might recognize what’s happening or know a fix. The headset was previously working normally, but after attempting to reconnect it through the Meta Quest mobile app, the pairing process started behaving strangely.

The headset appears in the app for a few seconds and initially looks like it’s connecting correctly, but then the process either freezes, endlessly loads, fails during syncing, or disconnects entirely before setup finishes. Sometimes the app says it’s connecting while the headset itself shows no progress, and other times the headset briefly pairs before disappearing again from the device list.

I’ve already tried:

  • Restarting both the headset and phone multiple times
  • Turning Bluetooth off and back on
  • Reconnecting to Wi-Fi
  • Forgetting and re-pairing the device
  • Reinstalling the Meta Quest app
  • Checking for software updates
  • Logging out and back into my Meta account
  • Trying a different internet connection

Despite all of this, the issue still keeps happening randomly, and I can’t get the pairing process to complete consistently. At this point, I’m not sure if this is a software bug, an account sync problem, a Bluetooth issue, or something related to a recent update.

If anyone has experienced a similar connection/pairing loop or found a working solution, I’d really appreciate the help because this has turned into a full boss battle against my own headset. 😭

Please help—I have the same problem as the author.

Could this be related to the new update?

And how do I fix it—should I just wait for a new patch?

d4_core vladdos.2026 OK, try this. It fixed it for me a few months ago. Uninstall and reinstall the Horizon app, then go to the app settings and clear the cache of the app. After I did that it worked for me. Hopefully it will work for you. The Horizon app is a mess for a while now, updates to it aren't making it any better unfortunately. The good news I suppose is that your headset doesn't have the problem.

Unfortunately, this problem surfaced during the initial setup after the purchase.

vladdos.2026  maybe try if using your phone hotspot - not wifi - during the set up works.
