Insta360 Camera and Meta Quest 3 Syncing

Hi,

I have spent hours and days trying to transfer my data from my insta 360 x5 to my meta quest 3 device.  I am registered as a developer on on my meta horizon app, pc and meta quest 3 device.

When I request support on the meta website, it tells me to select my device  and when I do this I am told no device found - and it doesn't give me further options..

This is why I asked how can I register my device.   This is extremely frustrating .

How do I receive technical support?

I am a meta shareholder and have encouraged others to buy the meta quest 3.  You need to have easier ways to contact support.

Late answer, in case you or someone else still needs it. No developer registration is needed for this, that is a dead end for what you want. The X5 has to export its videos as "360° video" MP4 files first (in the Insta360 app or Insta360 Studio on the PC; choose H.265/HEVC, the Quest 3 plays 8K HEVC smoothly and stutters on H.264 above 4K). Then there are three ways to watch them in the headset:

    1. Copy the files to the Quest with a USB-C cable from the PC (the headset shows up as a drive on Windows, accept the "allow access to data" prompt in the headset), then open them with a 360° player.

    2. Leave them on the PC and share the folder on your Wi-Fi (right click the folder, Properties, Sharing), and read the share from the headset. No copying, the PC keeps the only copy.

    3. Put them on a NAS, same thing.

For the player I use Immuch360, a free open source app I maintain (https://github.com/freeKC/Immuch360): it reads the headset's own files, a shared folder of the PC or of a NAS, or an Immich photo server; press the 360° button and the video is around you, with a time bar and previous/next. It also opens the raw .insp photos of the X5 directly. The Horizon Store listing is in review; until then it is installed as an APK with the developer mode you already have.
