Meta Horizon Link Pairing Code window not showing

Hi guys,

long time Meta Quest user here. This is more of a complaint about the recent QA at Meta for the Meta Horizon Link app on pc, than an actual call for help - however: if you got any recommendations on how to pair my Quest 3 device without uninstalling everything (including all folders and cleaning registry), i appreciate it.

I guess every long time Meta user knows, that Meta's horizon pc software lacks usability/stability from time to time. I got myself an enthusiast dedicated wifi6e router setup (pc wired connected oc), a NASA PC that is ALWAYS perfectly up to date (drivers, windows 11 updates, etc). In general i would make the claim, that i find solutions for every minor hickup connected with wireless pcvr on a MEta Quest HMD (Q2, Q3 day one...).

Virtual Desktop is my daily driver for wireless streaming, because auf its usability, AV1 codec, and its stability (you know: all the things air link is lacking...) However, for some usecases i use Steam Link for some others i use air link (especially for its feature to increase the pixel density via ODT).

Est. two month ago, my Q3 losts its pairing to the meta horizon app. When trying to re-pair it, i came to the point, that my Q3 showed me a pairing code, that i would need to enter in the paring code window of my meta horizon pc app. The issue is: The pairing code window did (and does not) not show up. Frustratingly though, the meta horizon pc app gave me the message, that the pairing code expired after somne minutes. Great job guys!  After researching (and finding oput, that  this bug is well known)  and trying every other possible solution i could find, i gave up, uninstalled meta horizon, cleaned my registry, and made a fresh install. Paring window appeared, device paired, all good. Not exactly, because i needed to uninstall every game of my meta pc libary, download literally 100s of GB again, but it worked.

I played Hitman WOA with increased pixel density (looks and runs like a dream on my pc), and moved on to other games some days later.

Yesterday i thought: "Let's return to Hitman".

And it all started over again. Q3 is no longer paired, pairing code window on the PC app does not open, pc app says "pairing code has experied after some minutes".

As a software QA professional i ask myself: What is the matter with Meta's QA? Does your management don't give you enough time for regression testing? Is this how LLM as a judge works in your company? Or is Meta horizon link no priority at all for your company? From a user's perspective, this is highly frustrating. This is a call to your meta horizon link managers, POs or however you call them, and to your QA team: get your stuff together. You are scaring your customers away.

If you think this is too difficult to post publicly, don't publish it. At the moment, the "Tell us what you think" pop-up box appears next to this. Just so you know, I'm being honest when I write this. I think your VR hardware is great and I'm really grateful to Meta for making VR popular. However, the Meta Horizon Link App has never been very reliable. I've had so many problems with Air Link over the years, but now I can't use it without doing a lot of research and reinstalling it first. The only problem I've had with Virtual Desktop in the last 5 or 6 years was that I couldn't add new games to the Games tab. This could be solved in just two hours of research. It's an app that was made by one person.

Their software is abominable and always has been, and it reflects the state of their staff. Also every update makes the UI and features worse and more annoying, yet they continue to do it. They still haven't fixed this issue lol. I wonder if they will ever revert the absolute mess of a UI they made.  They really need to replace all of their staff.
