    Possible solutions:

Hard Reboot: Press and hold the headset's power button for 10-15 seconds until the device turns off completely. Then wait for a while and turn it back on. Sometimes this helps restart the stuck process.

Update or reinstall the app: Make sure that the Meta Quest app on your phone is updated to the latest version from the Play Store or App Store. If it is updated, uninstall and reinstall the app once and try clearing the phone's cache.

Check the Internet connection: Ensure a stable and fast Wi-Fi connection. Sometimes, setting up over a public network or mobile data can cause problems with the update. It is best to use a 5 GHz Wi-Fi connection.

Bluetooth and Location Permissions: Make sure that your phone's Bluetooth and Location services are turned on. These are required for the app to connect to the device during setup.

Ensure Charge: Make sure the headset is sufficiently charged (at least 50% or more). If necessary, try setting up the device while it is charged.

    An important tip:

Since the Meta Quest 1 is an older model, Meta has limited its service or update support in many cases. If the steps above don't work, it's likely a server-side issue. In that case, you can contact their customer support directly by visiting the Meta Quest Support page.

Hope these methods help resolve your issue!

    Hi uwuwuwwuwuwu 🙂

The set up of a Quest 1 doesn't work with the current version of the Horizon app if you use an Android phone.

The easiest way is using an iphone - maybe you can borrow one for a few minutes - the set up works without issues... at least it did a few months ago.🙃

If you don't have access to an iphone, you must download an older version of the Horizon app, then skip the step when it says to update to a newer version and complete the Quest setup. Afterwards you can update the app.

Problem is, on many phones the button to skip the update is not visisble. If that's the case, try it from a tablet... even here the "skip" button might only partially visible, but you should be able to use it.

The solution in the thread below describes what you must do. Unfortunately, the link to a working version in that solution doesn't work anymore.
