Meta Quest 2 link freezing often
For a while, my quest 2 has been freezing when linked to my pc, while my pc shows that everything is working, with the game running, the movement tracking working, and I can still hear audio. I have seen other posts similar to my issue, but they all are unhelpful.
I have had this issue ever since I got my headset, but not as bad as it is now.
After I fixed my issue of my headset not updating and updated it to v206 from v81.xyz (I don't remember the exact number), my link cable stopped working, as my headset thinks it's a charging only cable. The cable is USB 3.0, and it worked perfectly before the update. Thankfully, my wifi is stable enough to use air link. Even though air link works, my headset screen freezes every few minutes. My meta horizon link thinks that my headset is still connected, even after I quit it from my quest. I have attempted to use the "restart meta horizon link," but the button does nothing. I can still use the app, and trying again doesn't work. I have to go to task manager, end the process, along with all 3 other background processes, "OVR Redir" "OVR Service Launcher" and "OVRServerx64.exe (CAPI: 1.205.0) dev build".
This issue occurs every 3 to 5 minutes, making it impossible to play, much less enjoy, any of my PCVR games.
I am using:
12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12400F (2.50 GHz) for my CPU
AMD Radeon RX 6600 (8 GB) for my GPU
16.0 GB of RAM
The latest version of Windows 11
I have seen that Nvidia drivers have been causing issues, but that has been for link cables, and, of course, Nvidia brand graphics cards.
Hopefully this is an easily fixable issue.
EDIT: After updating my graphics drivers, which I will again say, is AMD, it is now too laggy to use the link at all.
