Meta Quest Link Update: Link Launch Issue Resolved

Hi everyone,
We recently identified an issue with Meta Quest Link unable to launch which caused users to be stuck in the app launch loading screen. We’ve now released an update that should resolve this problem.
What’s changed:

  • The main issue is fixed, and you should be able to use Meta Quest Link as expected.
  • Please note: For now, you won’t be able to see your hands in Dash. However, raycasts are visible, and you should be able to interact with games and other content as usual.

Thank you for your patience while we worked on this fix! If you continue to experience any issues, please let us know in the comments.

yes it is working actually but worse then before , you cant set higher bitrate in oculus debug Tool then 450-500 mbps becouse horrible stutter , before this v83 update you was able to set bitrate 960 and  everything was clear and smooth .

I had this problem with H.265 encoding. If you use H264 Encoding it should be fine. If it still doesn’t work, I would ask you if you use the Meta Quest Link Official Cable with fibre optic capabilites (70$pricetag). That cable enables my quest 3 to go to 2000mbps but will introduce framedrops.

No, it's not about H265 ... that problem it's with any codec (H264/H265) and no matter what resolution you use, can be a very low res and the "stutter" above 500 or 550 it's constant, like to change to a 30fps instead of 72fps (hz). This problem it's not happening to everyone.

I can connect now (air link); but the visual keeps falling apart particularly during head movement. The image looks smeared or datamoshed.; the VR experience resolution looks terrible and the scene freezes

при подключении по кабелю, выключи интернет на пк, а после загрузки включи обратно. Это временный фикс, но помогает 99% случаев

My issue:

Yesterday, Quest Link was completely broken for me:

- USB Link did not work at all

- Air Link did not work either

Result: infinite loading screen / crashes every time.

Today, after a recent update, the situation changed:

- Air Link is now working again

- USB Link is still completely broken

Every time I try to use Link with a cable, it crashes during the connection process.

The same cable and PC setup worked fine before this update.

At this point, the issue seems to be specifically related to USB Link after the latest update, while Air Link works on the exact same setup.

Is anyone else experiencing the same behavior today?

Air Link works, but USB Link crashes since the update.

Is yours just crashing instantly? Mine boots up but then crashes very, very easily. Sometimes in 10 minutes, sometimes in 10 seconds.

yep, I have it too. The Link over a USB cable became very unreliable. It starts, it works for some time, then 2 possible options: 1. immediate disconnect. 2. The image freezes, then when I'm trying to check what is going on, it disconnects.
I'm not sure about AirLink, as I didn't test it for a long enough period.

Can you provide a rollback option to the previous stable version?

Releasing updates without sufficient testing significantly affects usability and user trust.

The reaction from the community shows how damaging this is for a company of this scale.

Big time. All of my games were on the quest store, so you best believe after this BS I'm buying the games on steam and running VD. Meta is, and always has been SO faulty.

Quest 2 user here. Am I the only one that is noticing that link is now frequently disconnecting after this fix? At first I thought my cable was broken but I tested multiple cables. I cannot use it like this.

Is it a USB 3 cable?
How is the device recognized in the Meta Horizon Link app? E.g. in devices tab:

How about when disconnects?
In the device manager when it disconnects can you see the reality labs device entry?
