Oculus Go - Installation stuck

I received a new Oculus Go and tried to set it up. It freezes during the security video and won't go any further. I reset the device and reinstalled the app. I have an iOS operating system. Does anyone have any ideas?

    I'm not sure, sorry.

You might have to try more than one version to make it work.

This is a newer post, maybe try this.

    Hi Trinity1303 πŸ™‚

The setup doesn't work with the latest version of the Horizon app.

You'll need an Android device with an older version of the app for the setup.

The solution in the following link - it's for the Quest 1, but it works for the Go too - describes what you have to do and includes a link to an older version of the app.

    Hi Choleni

thank you so much for your answer.

I understand what is to do. One question cause Iβ€˜m not an Android user. Dose it depends on the Android version for the older Meta app that it work?

Hi, I've got an Android (Android 15) tablet and tried various Meta Horizon versions. Unfortunately, it doesn't work. A version from December 24th/November 24th doesn't accept the cookie settings. With version 212.0.0.2.109, I can get to the installation menu, and then it says that location tracking isn't active, even though it's enabled. I can find the device via Bluetooth, but I can't connect. Anyone else have any ideas?

Trinity1303  you might have to try this little fix to get the okder APKs running on android 14 phones or later.

Thank you, the Problem is not to install or to login on the older app. I have the problem with the location tracking. Maybe a problem with the tablet. I will try another device. I keep you informed.

So my feedback - the problem is solved

The solution was with the app version from the thread and a Android smartphone.

I also tried a Android Tablet, a iPad mini and a Android emulator on a Windows 11 computer.

Thank you all for the Support.

The smartphone was a Huawei P30 pro with Android 15.

Trinity1303  maybe mark that as a solution too, so it jumps to the top of the thread.

It might help people find a device which they can useπŸ™‚
