Oculus Link Sync Issue with Quest 3: Video lag behind head movement

I've found a bug with the Oculus Link software using the official link cable and Quest 3.

Every time I try to play some relatively demanding PCVR titles or enter some heavy worlds in VRChat, after the computer stutters for a few seconds for loading, the headset tracking and the streamed video feed go completely out of sync.

The frame rate in the demanding scene after loading is high and smooth, but the video feed in the headset is a bit delayed relative to my head movement, resulting in an extremely nauseous experience. Even after I quit the demanding game and returned to Oculus Dash, the problem remains, and the video feed is still delayed.

This bug can be reproduced consistently. Reconnecting the Oculus link briefly eliminates the problem, but the delay happens again when I try to load scenes. This makes the Oculus link unusable.

Any solutions?

Hey guys! I just wanted to check in on this thread and see how everyone was doing. I also wanted to say thank you DJTaranis  for letting us know you got it working for a bit before it stopped working again.

I also wanted to let you all know that the v62 update should start to gradually roll out on the 7th, and there are supposed to be a lot of updates for PCVR. If you're still having trouble with video lag in your Quest 3 headset, I recommend sending a private message to our MetaStoreHelp page so that this can be looked into further.

Not sure if there's been an update to the headset but both Air Link and Link Cable are working perfect now, no issues whatsoever. Only update on my PC was an NVIDIA driver.

I've noticed the same bug. When I go to load a game I notice blotchy pixels moving around when I move my head even in the loading screen then it continues in the game. If I quit the game, restart oculus service in the debug tool and reload the game it runs perfectly smooth and clear. I pretty much have to restart the oculus service after every game session.

I have updated with the v62 update.

Checking in with this issue.

It still persists with my software and very consistently with high-demanding games, as mentioned in the original post. I usually get this problem when playing Blade and Sorcery and Phasmophobia. I try to fix it by stepping out of my play area to re-sync the hmd and the display, but It will stutter for a second or two and the video feed will go out of sync again.

I've stopped using the Link cable as I've found Air Link to be way more stable which is strange. V63 update for me with Air Link is pretty much perfect now.

Same, I have been having the exact same issue, when I either load a big map on a game, or cause the game to lag when I for example spawn too many NPC's at once. It is very annoying and hasn't always been an issue for me in the past. However, I use a Meta Quest 2, not a Meta Quest 3. I also use Oculus Link not Air Link. I don't have the official Link cable though. Also I use Windows 11, not sure when this issue started but it was sometime after I moved to Windows 11 around late or middle of 2023. The video lag only occurs after the my game stutters but the actual frame rate of the game is smooth. Re-connecting my headset to my computer does fix it until it happens again. I am not enrolled in PTC and sometimes taking off the headset and putting it back on fixes it, other times it doesn't. Hope the Meta team looks into this and fixes it because it looks like it has been an issue for a while by looking at the reply dates on this forum post.
