Question

ovrserver.exe amdvlk64.dll crash

No matter what i do i cannot fix this error which makes my rift s unusable. Basically in the middle of playing a game ovrserver/meta quest link crash breaking the connection between the headset and my game. the game continues, but my headset freezes for a second, goes black, and loads back into the meta quest link dashboard. i have to close my game manually and reload it through the dashboard to get the headset to pick up the game again. really inconvenient when trying to use the headset for sim racing which is 90% of the reason i even care to continue trouble shooting this issue. i already lost my library of games i had from meta changing from oculus and sending emails with deadlines to migrate your account. i do not want my headset to become a paperweight because meta decides to push forced updates for legacy hardware

I have ddu and reinstalled drivers/adrenalin

Upgraded windows via win11 iso

Uninstalled and reinstalled meta quest link

Rolled back to older drivers and nothing is seemingly working

I have message meta customer service about this issue for a months and they have been little help. every other message was from a different person who didnt read the email thread before responding the same generic fixes, curious if anyone in the community may have had a similar issue or could offer a potential fix

The crashes are caused by your AMD GPU Vulkan driver. Try using an alternative graphics API such as DirectX or OpenGL if available. Or roll back your GPU driver to one that doesn't crash.

do you know of a way to force directx or opengl over vulkan? i have tried every driver since 7800 xt released and they all crash with the same error
