quest 2 not connecting to pc suddenly

So until now ive been able to just connect the link cable and use my headset on the pc freely now suddenly the pc app wont even recognize the headsets been plugged in, which kinda sucks since all my games are on the pc so basically cant do anything with my headset until a new update or a fix unless i want to buy the games over again. Not sure what to do to fix it

    Hey AryaSvitkona, could you confirm which update you're on at this moment? The last update for this issue was around 57.0.0.254.153. I want to confirm that detail and if any other updates have been completed. I want to make sure I bring this up to our engineer team as quickly as possible.

    The notification to accept the usb connection doesn't pop up anymore check the notifications bell icon and you can accept from there hopefully that works for you

    After spending another hour trying different workarounds I figured out how to etablish a USB 3.2 connection.

    1. Turn off VR Headset and Computer
    2. Detach Link Cable from VR Headset
    3. Turn on Computer and VR Headset
    4. Login to your computer and start Oculus Software
    5. NOW connect Link Cable
    6. Allow USB Connection to Computer in VR Headset
    7. Check "Devices" in Oculus Software -> should be green and USB 3.2 now

    If I restart my system or shutdown and boot a few days later, it won't work except I disconnect the Headset before.

    I'm about to lose my mind, I have had oculus over 2 years now. I never had any issues , I been mainly using for DCS. Last Saturday all the sudden it stopped connecting to my pc. So far I tried list bellow and unfortunately still not connecting and stuck on 3 moving dots. 

    • Reset Head set to factory settings
    • Uninstall and reinstall Oculus app
    • Tried 3 different cable
    • Tried 3 different USB 3.0 , 2 USB-C, 3 USB 3.1 port
    • Tried connecting with airlink
    • Checked on firewall make sure nothing blocks to connection

    Hey Dkayhan7! There's a lot to dive into on the PC side of VR that we wouldn't want you missing out on, so let's see what we can do to help out! When uninstalling the Oculus software, be sure to uninstall via Control Panel, and remove any Oculus folders from the following folders:

    1. C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData
    2. C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Local
    3. C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\LocalLow
    4. C:\Users\YourUserProfile\AppData\Roaming
    5. C:\OculusSetup-DownloadCache

    When repairing the app, or uninstalling it normally, these folders will still remain even after a fresh reinstall. Sometimes, these folders can contain corrupted files that can affect the way the PC app is acting. If you're attempting to use Link, be sure to disable Air Link in your settings on the headset first.

     

    You can also try installing the latest Meta Quest drivers by:

    1. Closing the Meta Quest PC app.
    2. Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard to open the Run command.
    3. Enter C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-drivers. (File path may be different per user based on the install location)
    4. Open oculus-driver.
    5. Open the Meta Quest PC app and then try to connect your headset again.

    Actually from when i got my quest i've never, NEVER been able to connect it with my laptop. Airlink never worked, Quest link still never worked and i don't even get a pop-up in the quest or quest app like I'm supposed to.

    Happening to me too... No cable connection, no WiFi connection.  6-5-2024.

    Just want to play some Half Life: Alyx... WTF Meta???

      Hey everyone! Just wanted to jump in here and note that I'll be locking the thread. 

      The reason being that the original issue is now over a year old which means it potentially has a different root cause than anything we'd be seeing nowadays.
