Quest 2 - Quest pro controllers update stuck at 0%

Hi I just got my Quest Pro controllers today and paired them to my headset (Quest 2), however I can't use them and a little pop up saying "Controller update in progress (Left 0%) (Right 0%)" keeps appearing evey 30 seconds, I left the controllers a while to update but they never progress past 0%

Hey everyone! It seems like this was an issue for quite a few users over the past week. The good news is that we've been hearing reports of Pro controllers finally updating now! If you haven't, go ahead and try again to see if your controllers are updating and working.

If you're still getting stuck with your controllers not updating, please let us know!

Make sure you smash that Kudos button!

I got these two days ago. I have rebooted them dozens of times on and off the charger and the headset too. re-paired them repeatedly. They are stuck in updating progress 0.

Same issue here, lots of us going through this. Very frustrating to be honest

Same problems as you all.  Stuck on 0% nothing is working to get the firmware update to start.  My quest2 says I'm up to date but have  v47.  Everybody who got the v49 update was able to update firmware on their pro controllers.

So I'm in UK waiting for meta quest "version 49" and "Runtime Version 49" am I ?  (the other two are already49)? Before I can use my £299.99 Pro Controllers that I just purchased 🙄
When is this happening??

Considering that the support to the Pro controllers on Quest 2 is more like a surprise "favor" (other than a more way to sell the controllers), I guess so, if they don't fix it in another way.

I don't want to band my head before taking the hit, but... I'm in the middle of another weirdness.
After leaving the Quest2 and the controllers by itself yesterday night, now I was unable to let them works again; the controllers where on, with blinking LEDs (was white to me, but there is not such color in the info list: https://www.meta.com/help/quest/articles/getting-started/getting-started-with-quest-pro/pro-controllers-led/ ) but not active in the Quest2, so I turned on the bluetooth on my phone, checked if they where paired and they showed up in the Device section of the App, but still not on the Quest2. I had to reboot the Quest2 to use them.
Now I leaved it charging again, later I'll try again without using my phone or rebooting. If so... meh

EDIT: aaaaand that's exactly what happen, I have to reboot every time I want to play with Pro controllers 🤔
I guess we need a V50 to have a stable use of those controllers or a special procedure to wake them up (other than the reboot) ?

resetting controllers, headset, factory reset... all do nothing to fix the problem

At this point, the top secret fix that Meta can't admit is that you NEED full update to V49 (Software, Runtime and Version), not just one of them.
Try to change the connection, maybe using hotspot or friend's wifi, maybe the check "cache" will be refreshed.
I did it and it worked, not sure if was because of that or just a fortuity, but try.

the confusing thing is that my software versions says v49 but runtime and version say v47.xxx...  plus i seem to have some of the new features like the new virtual environments (abstract, winter)...   so **bleep** confusing

and still the quest pro controllers will not update. worthless **bleep**e

I don't know why those differences between the three version, but my update became full V47 to full V49, never had a mixed version of the three parameters.

Just got this from Oculus support:

Acknowledged that your network connection is stable, however may I ask if you attempted to download the firmware with an alternative network connection?

Adding on, A Meta Quest 2 paired with Meta Quest Touch Pro Controllers may experience the following performance issues if the connected wireless router is set up on a Dynamic Frequency Selection (DFS) channel:

  • Users would experience longer downloading time and worse latency on latency sensitive use cases

Users should disable DFS channels on their routers or avoid the following channel numbers while setting up the channels in their wireless routers: 50-68 and 96-144.

Hereby I may provide you few links that might assist you in router troubleshooting:

Haven't looked into this yet but will let you all know if I get any results from it.

this has nothing to do with the issue...   my router doesn't have DFS at all.  The issue seems to be we cannot get v49 update... god knows why

What a **bleep**ty experience. Having to wait an undefined time for a firmware update rolling out in a staggered way.

The DFS wifi instructions provided by Oculus support did not help.  I"m not using any of those channels.   Also tried an alternative network.

I've gotten in contact with the German Meta Support and I've been told the problem is now known and affecting everyone on v47 etc.

Meta is working on a solution in the form of a hotfix and it is probably going to get pushed out sometime this weekend. They told me the following (translated):

The specialist department has again confirmed that the situation with the Quest Pro Controllers, which cannot be updated, are a general situation. A solution is already being worked on with high pressure. If you don't mind, I would advise you to wait over the weekend, because hopefully the hotfix has been carried out.
