Quest 2 - Quest pro controllers update stuck at 0%

Hi I just got my Quest Pro controllers today and paired them to my headset (Quest 2), however I can't use them and a little pop up saying "Controller update in progress (Left 0%) (Right 0%)" keeps appearing evey 30 seconds, I left the controllers a while to update but they never progress past 0%

Hey everyone! It seems like this was an issue for quite a few users over the past week. The good news is that we've been hearing reports of Pro controllers finally updating now! If you haven't, go ahead and try again to see if your controllers are updating and working.

If you're still getting stuck with your controllers not updating, please let us know!

Allow me to make it clear that I’ve seen all of the other posts. I’m making this post to show meta how serious this issue is. Every person with this issue is another potential lost customer.

I’m incredibly frustrated that my pro controllers, (the ones that cost 300 USD) can’t update. Add that to the fact that I’ve been stuck on his odd hodgepodge where I have some elements of v49 but my firmware is v47, and I’m just- really disappointed. Is there a way I can get the file to Sideload the update? I’ve waited a week at this point for something that most likely isn’t coming. If not, have we found a workaround so I can use them before the update? Perhaps a way to prevent the automatic controller update?

Hey there. I understand your concern with this latest update. The way updates for the Meta Quest work is that the update is that the update is a slow rollout release, Meaning that some users will see it before others. If you don't have it yet, you will see it soon. It just has not reached you yet. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and thank you for your patience.

Alright, thank you. I’ve been waiting for a while and my versions seemed to be glitched out, so I really do hope it comes to me soon.

I've decided to return my controllers. That's the only language Meta seems to understand. Get your money back.

I can think of better ways to spend this money, rather than on botched controllers. Good luck to you all. Enjoy! 🙂

Now fix the connection after standby time.
The controllers disconnects from the Quest2 when they are not used and the only way to reconnect them is to turn on the bluetooth of the phone and open the Oculus App, or reboot the Quest2. This is annoying if you don't usually use the bluetooth/have the phone in your pocket, or want to waste the battery to reboot the device.
But this is for another topic.

same issue still no fix, support was very kid, also offered to replace the controllers but it's not a option considering meta dose not ship in my country... and I got them from amazon... it might be a internal issue

My controllers have been stuck on 0% updated for a day now and I tried everything I could, to factory reseting my headset to rebooting the controllers 80 different times. I’ve tried unpairing and repairing them. I’m not sure what to do anymore.

I’m still dealing with this as well.  New Pro controllers pair as expected to the the Quest 2, just stuck on the 0% update.  Tried leaving overnight, rebooting, factory reseting, and various combinations of.  I’ll keep at it for a few more days until I return them and consider it a failed attempt to upgrade.

Since receiving these yesterday and easily paring, all I have been seeing is blinking purple lights and:
Controller update in progress
Left (0%) Right (0%)
I have tried everything on this site. Many times. With two different quest 2 headsets.
Verifying Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and V49 in headset. Re-pairing quest 2 controllers.
Stopping and restarting headset and controllers, pairing and unpairing, rinse and repeat.
So am I expected to just wait for a magical spontaneous ability to update at some unknown point in the future? Is it our fault for expecting the proper functioning of a product out of the box without jumping through hoops?

The update to fix the controller update snag arrived this evening. The quest pro controllers now work perfectly and are everything I had hoped.

Kudos to Meta for this one.

It appears nothing is going to happen without a software update to the headset. Until then it is pointless to keep trying. I'll watch for that update for a day or two and then return them.

I was able to get it to work after three days of trying. The last thing I did that work was I tapped up the light sensor on the inside of the head set. I plugged the head set it. I then paired the controllers and set them on charger. After a few hours, I went to try it out and the controllers were working.
