Quest 3 /controller pairing broken after using the Quest Repair Assistan

Hi everyone,

My Quest 3  was stuck in a boot loop (Meta logo appearing then disappearing to a grey screen). Support had me use the software repair/update tool via PC, which fixed the boot issue — but now my controllers won't pair with the headset (first step).

What I've tried:

  • New batteries, LEDs light up and controllers vibrate normally
  • Meta + B (right) / Meta + Y (left) held for several seconds — no reaction on the headset
  • Waited 5+ min on the pairing screen — no items ever appear to select
  • Controllers show as "connected" in the Meta Horizon phone app,

I'm currently going back and forth with email support (case #09407530) and it's been slow going. Has anyone seen this exact combo (repair tool fixes boot, then pairing breaks) or knows a fix I haven't tried?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Hallex72 🙂

Controllers show as "connected" in the Meta Horizon phone app

Have you tried unpairing them in the app's headset settings, taking out the batteries for 15 min or so to reset them and then trying to pair them again?

Hi Choleni ,

Yes, I have tried but it didn't work.
I then took out the batteries for 30 mn, did a factory reset, but I end up to the same situation.
After waiting for more than 5 mn in the first screen (controller pairing), I have the second screen asking me to select an item by looking at it and using sound button to select it; there is nothing to select, I have moved my head in every direction, I can't find anything.
Thanks for your help

Try pressing the sleep button. Wait a couple of seconds, then press it again to wake the screen. Sometime that can refresh the menus etc.
