Of course you can choose the wifi you want to use. Open your Wifi settings, scan the networks and choose the 2.4ghz band on your router. As some games won't run as well on 2.4ghz I don't know why you'd want to do that.....but,whatever rocks your boat. For Quest Link you might really need 5ghz for a stable connection and that's why it's there. 🤷 Update : Here is the information from Meta themselves. You don't need to use 5ghz....however.. 

"Quest Link primarily uses 5GHz Wi-Fi for optimal performance, especially for wireless VR gaming, as it provides faster speeds and lower latency compared to 2.4GHz. However, it can also work with 2.4GHz, but the experience may not be as smooth." 

looked into that tryna link with charger to play but wont let you cuz 2.4 is missing which is not
