Question

Random disconnecting after Meta Quest 3 v76 update (April 2025)

Hello everyone,

I would like to ask if anyone has been encountering issues after the last April update, around 24th April to be exact. I mainly use the headset with wired link to play VR sim racing. Before this update, I had absolutely no issue, shortly after the install, the VR connection is lost after about 15-30, after an intense session.

Is there any fix for this? I saw that there is no way to roll back the driver... which is quite a shame. I was so excited after I bought it and set it up, only to have it crash now every half an hour.

I also played a little bit over 2 hours yesterday (and noticed the Quest Link had a new login animation/interface) -- so far so good... I even had a call in the middle of a song on beatsaber, then when i came back and reopened it, it even seemed to improve the visual rotation/alignment -- Unsure if this is permanent and fixed or just a fluke, crossing my fingers 🙂

I've been using Link today for several hours without any disconnections. Both headset and Link app are now running v77, which so far seems to be stable.

Anyone know if I can update to V78? V77 fixed the crashing for me, but I am now really afraid to update.

    Thanks

Likewise! Meta's updates clearly cannot be trusted for mission-critical use.

where do you see those "Vxx" version numbers? I have everything getting updated automatically... havent had any issues in the past ... 2 weeks? i am active/following 3 threads for 3 different problems/bugs that I have had for many months... and lately everything has started working decently... so crossing my fingers it stays that way! 🙂

In the headset you can check in the main menus under settings and updates (I think). Similarly in Quest Link App it shows the v# at the very bottom under the Settings>General (I think).

    Thank you! 🙂
yes in the general tab of settings at the bottom indeed had that info! 🙂
so i have this version : "Meta Quest Link App Version 78.0.0.988.310 (78.0.0.988.310)"
and "for me" it worked well since whenever i did get it.
